We loved Hotel Gitan, the food, service & atmosphere were excellent! The near the front bar & sitting at the bench looking over the kitchen just added to the night. We went on a Wednesday evening so took advantage of their dinner special. Rotisserie chicken perfectly cooked served with roast potatoes, beans & a chicken jus, & complimented by a glass of wine, all for only $25.00 each! Fantastic value & probably the best chicken we’ve had. We will definitely be back!

Great atmosphere and decor. The special lunch menu was perfect. Superb flavours, choice and lovely portion sizes particularly for a ladies lunch. Great to find something open on Monday of such High caliber. Definitely will be back to explore the menu further, including the special nights they have.

Interior is stylish and adds to character of the room. We loved the remnants of the Art Deco style of the building. Atmosphere was buzzing, with a couple of very loud tables.

About L'Hotel Gitan

Ticking every box L’Hôtel Gitan is the perfect balance of elegance and nostalgia, backed by quality French cuisine, an experienced team and a hospitality legend. Inside this gorgeous eatery a striking open kitchen is the hero of the space, strategically positioned between the bistro and dining room so diners can spy on the kitchen activity. Patrons can sit at prominent teal banquettes or at bistro-style tables for a casual meal, book out the private dining space for a major function or relax in the outdoor dining area. Jacques Reymond’s menu, like the fit out, is based on hand-selecting the best. Diners can expect sustainable produce that respects the natural flavours. From seared scallop salad with natural Tasmanian salmon and passionfruit ceviche to Cape Grim grass-fed porterhouse steak with fries these guys have got it all. The wine list is a European vacation with appearances from Australia and New Zealand, alongside beers and cider, both on tap and in bottles. For a night that will tick every box imaginable come to the L'Hotel. Best Dish: three pepper duck magret
