Best Japanese restaurant in Canberra. Have visited three times and have never disappointed with its food and service. Really should come, you will enjoy it
Very good value of the food. Enjoyed.
Food, service and attention to detail was excellent. Really nice decor and atmosphere. All round a great experience and highly recommended for excellent Japanese cuisine with interesting combinations.
Nicky was the best waiter my partner and i has ever had he was so professional, informative about the food and drinks and even made us feel welcome on out anniversary! The flavors on the tasting plater was out of this world everything just work so well together my hats off to the chef and staff 10/10 would recommend
Great Japanese restaurant with personable service, fantastic food and ideal for romantic dinners, with their little alcoves. Will definitely return.
Our server was great, he was especially welcoming of the two children in our party making them feel special. The banquet came out slowly giving us the opportunity to take our time over dinner.
Lilotang exceeded my expectations. Great ambience, super mega tasty and exquisitely presented food. Chuck, the waiter was super attentive :-) . We were very appreciative that the set menu was adjusted to accommodate our food preferences. Each dish had very subtle flavours. Sushi was amazing and oyster ice cream tasted even better than oyster. The cheesecake with sakura gel was delicious. Even the tea had wonderful unexpected flavour fusion. Complements to the Head Chef Shunsuke Ota for skilfully combining traditional Japanese techniques with new experimentation. Thank you Lilotang we had fabulous evening.
It was my Birthday. My husband wanted to catch up with some good friends for a meal to celebrate. I have been to this venue before and wanted to celebrate my special day at Lilotang. I knew the food would be lovely and the environment pleasantly hospitable. In the end it was the perfect choice as the service was great and the food was delicious. Once again it proved to be exactly what I wished for, a quality experience in a welcoming environment.
Food was delicious and the cocktails were great.
Excellent service and great selection of wines and beers.
Service was really good and professional. Lunch is ok
A really interesting menu, though not extensive. I could have done with more choice for the entree (I love traditional sushi and this wasn't offered). We all loved the food ordered, the cauliflower dish I reckon is one of the best I have ever tasted. The banquet, which the other members of the party ate, was beautifully presented, with some great flavours. Recommended.
Great dinner, fresh and exciting degustation
The sake cocktails are amazing. Waiters provide excellent service and are very knowledgeable about all food and drink items.
Food is fabulous
Service was a highlight for the evening. Everything was spot on, everything was smooth and seating was comfortable. The restaurant is noisy but it was so well thought through that the owners installed noise absorbing foam around the restaurant; so you get the ambience but also hold a conversation. We went for the tasting menu that was $96 per head, everything was delicious and tastefully presented. Highly recommend Lilotang and we will definitely dine there again next time we are in Canberra. (Will see you then Z!)
Great food, service and atmosphere.
We tried Lilotang for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary and they exceeded our expectations. We had the degustation which was amazing, wonderfully presented and very unique tastes. The service was outstanding with staff surprising us by wishing us a happy anniversary. As a result we had a very memorable dinner and we’d love to return very soon.
It's good, but somehow missed the mark. The service was great, the solo tasting menu much appreciated, but it could have been a bit better. I liked the soba noodles and the beef, but the greens were so-so. The dessert was also nice.
1 Burbury Close, 2600, Barton, Australia
Head Chef Shunsuke Ota combines his traditional Japanese training and techniques with new methods and techniques that he develops himself, creating modern Japanese dishes that begin with tradition but have evolved to be very much his own style. Located in the Burbury Hotel, the restaurant is slick with pale timber walls illuminated by strip lighting and lemon-yellow pops of colour. Semi private dining areas are created by hanging timber panels - giving you a touch of privacy if required, with views of the courtyard in the hotel. The menu consists of many tasty Japanese morsels like sashimi, robata-grilled yakitori skewers and duck breast sukiyaki with tempura egg. There’s much to love about this trendy Japanese eatery.
