The staff was very friendly and attentive. We particularly liked the pleasant, casual atmosphere in the outside section. The food was tasty and well presented. The prices were rather high, but perhaps that has something to do with the upmarket area.

Love Little Jean. It’s the best food in Double Bay and it’s also good value. Not everything works, but kudos to them for trying; the food is imaginative and fresh, with an emphasis on vegetables. The wine list is decent, and the pecan pie yesterday was one of the best I’ve ever eaten.

Excellent food paired with excellent service. Right in the heart of Double Bay. A must try for locals. Lovely outdoor seating during the warmer months. Indoor seating lovely too.

Such delicious food and our interstate guests really enjoyed it too. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening and it wasn’t at all noisy. Thank you x

A lovely restaurant in the heart of Double Bay. Select outdoor seating when booking during the warmer seasons (indoor seating great too). Friendly service, the perfect balance between attentive and not overbearing. The food was beautifully cooked using high quality produce. Highly recommended.

A very pleasant lunch. A bit of a windy day and the staff helped with closing to folding door next to our table. Food good but not complicated - we all enjoyed our meals. Toilets a bit far away.

phenomenal food & service! very attentive staff - a little side table was immediately brought over when it was a bit cramped, water was always topped up ?? the food tops many of the fine dining places out there - each ingredient handled with care and plays a part in the whole dish highly recommend!

About the restaurant

Say hello to Little Jean

Slotting in nicely to the backstreets of Double Bay is Little Jean. And yes, she is little, with just eighty seats in total. But despite its small space, she doesn’t feel squishy. Like the food, the decor is simple and modern with copper light fittings, white walls, timber finishes and branches in large vases making up much of the interior. Open for breakfast from 7am - and more importantly for coffee at 6:30am, Little Jean also offers lunch daily and is open for dinner from Tuesday to Sunday too. With About Life, Woolworths and The Golden Sheaf all within metres, foot traffic around this little gem is high, but there’s usually enough seats to go around. Sit inside and salivate over the cabinet of house-baked pastries, or dine outside where you will be kept warm by heaters in the winter and feel the sun streaming on your face come summer. This is a sleek and breezy venue that's perfect for intimate dinners, weekend brunches and family affairs. Come one, come all.

Best Dish: Salmon, Cauliflower, tahini yoghurt, surmac, walnut, coriander
