Love this place. Best dumplings in Sydney. Everything is delicious. Always quick and easy pre-theatre.

My friend and I come here for pre-theatre dinner every time. Love the food. Friendly service. Usually quite prompt. There was only one time when one dish took a long time to come out but that was once out of half a dozen times we had visited and we still made it to our play so no big deal.

About Lotus Dumpling Bar

Historical Walsh Bay housed the whaling and trade ports of Sydney – it was colloquially known as the “Hungry Mile” in the depression years with droves congregating in hope of a day’s work. In current times the precinct still attracts droves of hungry mouths, but to a vibrant dining and theatre scene. The Lotus Dumpling Bar began life as a warehouse built in the early 1900s for the Sydney Port Authority. There are remnants of the past in this rustic space with its polished copper tones and beautifully exposed brickwork. Walsh Bay is where the old transforms into the new. At Dumpling Bar the service is professional and familiar, being a local favourite. We look forward to welcoming you to experience our original restaurant.
