Excellent meal x 4 for the family. Great portion sizes. The eye fillet steak was excellent ! The fish was excellent as well. Great dining experience.
We've lived in Noosa for a long time and visited many of its restaurants, but this was our first time at Maisies - a birthday booking for 8 people. The food, ambience and service were all right up there and the staff were brilliant on a busy holiday night. We had three enormous hot and cold seafood platters between us plus some entrees and someone ordered a steak which he said was excellent. The charred calimari entree was perfectly cooked, juicy and flavourful. The platters fresh and brimming with a mixture of seafood, easily on a par with some of the others that we've paid double for. Add to that BYO which is almost unheard of in Noosa these days. We were impressed and would recommend Maisies for a genuine, traditional Noosa dining experience.
We went for a family birthday for my mums 75th bday. The food was amazing and the childrens portions were huge. Amazing value for money. Staff were very helpful. Highly recommend and so glad we chose this place foe such a special occasion.
Very busy night so not quickest or most attentive service but friendly. Fish and chips excellent but for a seafood restaurant the remainder prawns, calamari, lobster all nice but no more. Cooked well but think could have been a bit tastier and fresher.
This was our first visit to Msisies. The menu had somethong for everyone, even kids. We chose a shared seafood plstter that was exvellent. Thete was hot and cold pieces and every morsel was delicious. We byo wine for a corkage fee of $3 per person who was drinking it. It was a lovely night one we will repeat.
First time for our family of four back here since Maisie’s changed hands. The restaurant was really busy this past week, with 7 young staff members happily keeping up with all their demands. The decor has obviously been freshened up, lots of contemporary touches, while keeping the lovely historical photos of Maisie’s origins and family connections. The chairs are still torturous, encouraging us to not stay long. Two of us shared the seafood platter; a disappointment in fish quality, interspersed with very lacklustre chips and salad/coleslaw combination-really ? This standout meal should be fabulous. The steak meal was black charred, not medium rare as requested, but the barramundi meal was generous and perfectly cooked- although the potato slices under it were still crunchy. And there was a 4 minute gap between the first three meals, and the steak meal delivered to our table. The desserts - Banoffee and Mousse were good. We want Maisie’s to be great....but honestly, it has slipped. Leave it for the tourists.
Although we had a reservation we were made to wait in a queue upon arrival at 7.30 pm. There I was NO reserved table and we were left to find a table ourselves. No atmosphere...full lights no soft furnishings. they took drink order fairly quickly...but it took 25 mins for someone to take our order. we then waited over an hour for our meals...with follow up on 2 occasions. My partners meal was ok mine was their signature dish ...it was awful ..meat tough no flavour. The owner was not apologetic about the delay...he considers a one hour wait 'normal' and acceptable. We arrived at 7.30 pm and our meals were served at 9.15 pm. the whole evening was spoiled. After complaining twice he offered a free coffee....was not going to spend one extra minute at that restaurant. Our whole evening was spoiled. We then checked past reviews most of which complained about the ling wait for food. Avoid this restaurant.
What a disappointment. This was our favourite restaurant for the last 8 years, but after our lunch experience we will not return. Service was hideous with our entree coming out and within 5 mins our mains arriving. Food was not to the usual standard and don't get me started on the state of the toilets, a good clean and some maintenance is need. With the waitress making cocktails it sounded like a night club along with the throwing of empty bottles into the bin. This is no longer a restaurant where we will take our visitors or recommend.
Couldn’t fault the food - we had the hot and cold seafood platter and it was great! Love that this place is byo too.
We arrived on time and the restaurant did not have a table for us. Very disappointed as my 88 year old mum was so looking forward to this night. Apparently they had blocked the fork and did not see our booking. I won’t trust online booking again and definitely not go to Maisies again.
We recently had the pleasure to enjoy the marvelous menu at Maisie’s Seafood and Steakhouse restaurant. My wife and I loved the food, the service and the generous portions at this excellent venue. We were also thrilled to visit an establishment that has such a long and outstanding history in the local community. We thoroughly recommend Maisie’s.
We ordered the hot & cold seafood platter for two, which was amazing. It is the second time we have eaten there and the food and service is excellent.
Crazy good food, cocktails and service... fairly priced too. This place is so popular- booking will prevent disappointment...
The presentation of the seafood platter was good but the quality of the hot food was disappointing. The cooked fish was made to look generous as it was stacked on a huge bowl of very dry potato chips. The oysters, bug and prawns were fresh and tasty.
Booking had to be pushed back due to how busy they were, but they asked well in advance whether this was possible giving plenty of notice. Amazing staff and restaurant, they were very busy but were still able to offer great service and great food. Definitely a spot to revisit.
Waiting over an hour and a half for food after ordering. $25.50 for "King Prawn and Avocado Salad" main dish. Salad had 5 prawns that weren't king prawns as advertised, had only half an avocado cut in three big pieces and avo wasn't ripe (very hard) and then just some cos lettuce with mix of carrot and cabbage and a few bits of cucumber and over ripe tomatoes. Dish wasn't worth the wait or price paid. Not going back to restaurant even though been there last 5 years in a row and food and service usually better.
Lovely location. A little noisy but the food made up for it. We were made welcome and a different table was located for us when we felt the initial location was too busy.
We have been coming to Maisies every time we visit Noosa for 25 years and are always happy with the restaurant, whether its the Seafood or the Steaks.
Great service by a small team of busy people.
The booking system requires adjustment. Sent a text at 5:40pm requesting a booking for 7:30pm, the same evening (Wednesday) as per the website (received confirmation the day after we dined), phoned the number that the text was sent to, twice, to confirm booking and calls weren’t answered. Eventually booked through The Fork. A lovely setting. The service was good and in my opinion, the portion sizes ample. I had the Fisherman’s Basket (tartar sauce was delicious) and my husband had the rib fillet, cooked exactly as ordered. I had a taste of the cracked pepper sauce that my husband had with his steak and I really enjoyed it. I would dine there again.
