You have never tried miso Soup like this before - a mamasan classic!
Light tempura basa - back sesame - dill - yuzu kewpie mayo
Mixed vegetable gyoza - Asian spice - Chinese black vinegar
My party of 3 and I truly enjoyed the food, it was full of flavour and the atmosphere was amazing. What I didn’t like is when I turned up at 7pm informing the staff I had a reservation they had no idea and told me to sit anywhere. Although I had requested a nice table in the quiet part of the restaurant they simply had no idea where to confirm this. Our waitress forgot to add one of the dishes we ordered and towards the end we realised it and didn’t bother to let her know. We were happy it wasn’t on the bill.
one bite beef is always a winner. music was too loud
We were a big group of locals but for many it was our first and last time there. I would recommend the place if you’re a couple but not a group bigger than 4 (we were 11). Cocktails were great and the food was good but the serving sizes were so small (we ordered a $60/person menu but there were a couple of dishes where there wasn’t enough servings for everyone that we had to request extra). The service staff was very nice however could possibly be more attentive as bottled and cocktail glasses we’re often empty and we really short on water. We still had a fun time but there are a lot more establishments in Bondi for large groups where you get much better value as a group (Spring St Social for example).
Slow service Not a very authentic Japanese restaurant
Busy although enjoyed the food, service and ambience.
Food was average. One waitress was great, the others weren't.
Mamasan is hit and miss. Sometimes they're understaffed so service is annoyingly slow, other times it's great. Food is always good. One bit beef - yes please! Party atmosphere so having a fun night isn't hard. I'll be back
We had a great time!
Yum food. Service was average but I think it wa her first day
Food and service very average. We shared some dumplings, chicken karaage and rice and a bottle of wine and the bill was $90 so value was fine. There was a live band and a great atmosphere so that made up for it. Big tables out the back that would be good for a big group and it’s pretty casual so could get rowdy.
Deserves its price.
Overall is okay.
Felt way less inviting / friendly than my many previous experiences here - although I haven't dined her for more than a year, and probably wouldn't return.
Brilliant ambience, superb staff and a menu to make you want to order more - but you cannot decide what. Servings perfect, taste exquisite and a drinks list that befits a restaurant such as this. Will be back again VERY soon and bringing others with us. Thanks guys - a great evening..!
Great night out with friends
Casual dinning in a relaxed atmosphere. Delicious food
Great bar and restaurant, yummy cocktails. Good value, good food and good service.
Was quite noisy.
Great food and drinks

Mamasan knows best
Australian’s love our Asian food. Our cousins from across the sea create some of the best tasting food in the world, and we can’t get enough! Just a few minutes from Bondi Beach, Mamasan Bondi delivers great tasting Asian cuisine and a huge selection of Japanese craft beers, all packaged within a beautifully unique establishment. Menu standouts include the Duck Pancake and the Fish on Fire, which are beautifully prepared and bursting with flavour.
Mamasan is a great spot to take a special someone, offering a unique but relaxing atmosphere and food that tastes as good as it looks. If you’re trying to impress a date and want a safe bet, this cosy gem ticks all the boxes.
