Lovely little place. The food is delicious, lovely cosy athmosphere, nice staff with good service. Perfect for warm days as it’s has open windows view from the 2nd floor but they also have heaters Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for nice food and a place with style

Quirky place but quite enjoyed the Japanese Taiwanese crossed food and serving was quite substantial. Loved the lychee sau wau cocktail.

About Mamasan Surry Hills

Asian sensation Bondi’s famous Mamasan has opened its doors to a Surry Hills hotspot, where its popular Asian fusion eatery is flourishing. The crown street version is located in a quirky three and a half story terrace that has been transformed into a multi level bar and diner. Stop by the bar on the first floor and enjoy some pre dinner drinks of premium Asian whiskies or cocktails. On the top floor, the ceiling is hidden by white cherry blossoms and a 4m high Japanese maple tree stands in the centre of the room. If that doesn't set the mood, then the sushi bar that has been made out of an old fishing boat certainly will. The food is inspired by Lin’s childhood spent in a remote Taiwanese fishing village and in Japan, the chef has created a punchy fusion menu. Tapas includes dishes of puffy tempura popcorn fish and our favourite handmade beef dumplings. From the BBQ, try the chili mongolian lamb or indulge on some sashimi and sushi. Best dish: Duck pancakes
