Value for money

Great food. Delicious wine. Service a bit slow. Other patrons are irritatingly sceney. Good reminder that I’m too old and grumpy for Fitzroy hipness on a Saturday night. Stick to week nights for those similarly inclined.

Food was very very good

Food didn’t live up to the high standards. Wine menu is top class and has extensive list. Table was to small to dine at. Atmosphere was ok. More of a wine bar than a place to enjoy a good meal for the price they are charging.

The food was not good value for money- eg Credu flavour was too subtle, pork neck needs to be really good quality cuts of meat if it is to be served rare. Drinks good. Service good. Very noisy. They should definitely install noise abatement devices like other restaurants with hard surfaces are doing eg noise absorption objects on ceiling and probably walls, foam under chairs, like at SuperMaxi in St Georges Rd Fitzroy North.

Fabulous night, great wine list - traditional and contemporary styles, interesting menu - the steak tartare was divine; but most importantly, the service was impeccable

The service during brunch was very attentive. The coffee was delicious and the rhubarb conserve with my toast was a treat. I also noticed the cool sophistication of the decor.

Great evening out, nothing to fault at all. I will be recommending to friends!

About Marion

Spread across two shopfronts Andrew McConnell’s Marion is the kind of place where you can pause for a glass of wine, or sink a few bottles over the course of the evening - the choice is entirely yours. The lengthy wine list features a number of small producers and exciting blends, and you can expect exciting drops covering the breadth and depth of the winemaking world. We're not the only ones who think the wine list is excellent; Marion was lucky enough to be awarded The Age Wine List of the Year in 2016. The food menu is seasonal and is always on the move with both small and large sharing plates available; think oysters, stracciatella, pasta tortellini, half roast chicken and whole flounder (just to name a few). Inside, Marion's decor is simple and chic, with white washed brick walls, comfortable leather seats, dark wood panneling and a bustling open kitchen. Whatever the occasion, whether you’re popping in for a quick drink and a snack or staying for the long haul, Marion can cater. We love sitting in the main window and watching the world go by - glass of wine in hand of course! Marion is open for dinner Monday to Sunday; for lunch Friday afternoon; and all day from 8am on the weekend + is wheelchair accessible. Best dish: chef’s selection
