Fantastic food and great service. The feta and spinach pide was amazing - freshly baked with a great taste. This was our first trip back since lockdown restrictions were put in place and we look forward to visiting again soon!
Friendly and kind staff and owner, they came 3 times to check out service. Fresh food, I love the turkish bread warm and just out of oven. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone who loves Middle Eastern food, I will come back many more times. Thanks for your hospitality.
Fabulous food and service
Amazing service , food and atmosphere. Even though we ran late, they were super accommodating and understanding. Great selection of food and wine. Very authentic.
Great atmosphere and wonderful service. Big range of selection of dishes and very filling. Loved the spinach and feta spring rolls. Will probably be back to try more.

Superb Turkish cuisine. Great to be back after so long. Highest recommendation!
Food was authentic, fresh, and delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great find - and I will most certainly be returning.
Our meal was delicious as usual, thank you Marmara ????
First time visit. Great atmosphere and quality dishes. Great service and friendly. The claypot was the highlight. Was too full to get dessert. Will be back!
Lovely staff and great food. Super big portions. would definitely go again and can highly recommend to everyone. Atmosphere is lovely and you can sit inside and outside.
Staff, venue, cost and location was excellent. Food overall was below average. Have had food elsewhere much better. Entree was lovely. Main meal was not warm enough. The meat was tender, but no flavour. Desert was horrible.
The restaurant had a lovely ambiance. The service was very good. All the dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. We will definitely return again.

Wonderful food, ambiance and service. Good sized portions served by friendly staff. Will be returning soon. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We loved this authentic Turkish restaurant. The food was amazing, the ambience was nice and and the staff were lovely. A range of yummy entre's and mains, too hard to pick from!! We tried the Vegetarian Fritters, Eggplant dip, slow cooked lamb which was heavenly, and the mix grill. The bread was so fresh! We ate a lot we had to roll back home!
Small busy restaurant with good food and environment, and the friendly staff just make us very comfortable to dine in with kids. We look forward to coming back for our third anniversary dinner here with our kids!
Marmara is a stalwart on Chapel Street with some customers we met being patrons for many years. Very Turkish setting and quiet. Good for a large group or just two.Interesting selection of food. We had the "Iman Fainted", baby eggplant lightly pan seared, then oven baked with a covering of diced tomato, capsicum & garlic. A fresh garden salad and bulgur rice at the side. We then had the traditional beef dumplings( manti); more akin to a Turkish version of gnocchi. We shared both dishes; the dumplings for just one person would have been too much. The dish reminded us of manti we had in small Turkish villages many years ago. The wine list has an interesting mix of Turkish, Greek, French, Italian and Australian. Reasonably priced and you can BYO for $10 per bottle. Strongly recommend.

True Turkish delight
Away from the bustling retail end of Chapel Street, you will find Marmara Turkish Restaurant, one of Australia’s oldest Turkish restaurants. Established in 1980, the secret to Marmara’s longevity is clear: offering hungry diners a genuine Turkish experience. We can’t go past the special banquet, which leaves no stone unturned when it comes to the best of Turkish food. Entrée does more than whet your appetite with dips, baked eggplant, Turkish bread, a spinach and feta spring roll, fresh green beans and vine leaves. Not to be outdone, the main course sees you sampling fresh calamari, iskender kebab, shish kebab, shish tavuk and grilled prawns. Don’t eat meat? Not a problem! The flavours of Turkish food lend themselves perfectly to vegetarian cuisine. All banquets are accompanied by pilav (rice) and a garden salad, although we wouldn’t blame you for moving straight to the selection of desserts and beverages (both hot and cold) that are also heading your way. After all, what Mediterranean meal is complete without baklava and Turkish coffee? If you’re not quite ready to take on a banquet, Marmara also offers an extensive eat-in and takeaway menu. As the restaurant’s name derives from the region of Turkey surrounding the Sea of Marmara, we love trying the new seafood specials, such as the claypot with grilled king prawns, scallops, mussels, calamari, fresh tomato, spinach, garlic, fresh herbs and pesto. As they say in Turkey, ‘afiyet olsun’ (or bon appetit)!
