Big Italian flavours on Little Collins Nestled in amongst some of Melbourne's most well respected hotels and surrounded by office towers, Massi is an excellent choice for both an up-scale business lunch or dinner meeting, a romantic meal for two or a convenient choice for visitors to this fair city. Massi is everything you would expect from a modern Italian restaurant. Cool white walls and dark brown leather studded booths with white table cloths, glinting wine glasses on every table and along the walls a beautiful display of photographs and pictures showcasing the tradition and family behind the food and the service. As the brother restaurant to Mister Bianco in Kew there is a lot of care and thought that has been put into the set up of Massi - and that really shows. The atmosphere and service in the restaurant are exceptional at any time of the day. Wait staff are courteous and helpful but move around with the efficiency that comes with serving a busy restaurant. At night it is a pleasure to watch the chefs at work in the ""Antipasto Corner"", a fun and interactive way to showcase the freshness of the produce and the food that is being served. Delight in the modern Italian menu featuring dishes like Linguine with mussels, prawns and samphire; the Ricotta Gnocchi with salted speck, radicchio and truffle cream, or the Crumbed Veal Cotoletta with porcini sauce and crispy onions. The portion sizes reflect the quality of the food - not too much and not too little. Totally satisfying. Best dish: Cavatelli, slow cooked pork shoulder ragu & white beans.
