Fabulous
Can’t fault this vegan/cruelty free establishment at all. I did however have to endure listening to a bigot on the table next to me talking about how she is OK with certain types of animal exploitation and as a result spent the whole time wanting to leave (because speaking up amd calling people out for being an oppressor is frowned upon by the majority of society)
It was our very first time in this place. We really enjoyed there was variety of vegan food to choose from. The food was good and I wish there was potential for it to be better in taste. It missed the mark of wowness. We were served by two differrnt staff and I was unhappy with one of staff as she was very unfriendly and we were made felt she was happy to serve us. I would come again when we special celebration in our family however wish not to be served by her.
Really enjoyed everything! Will deffo go back the ONLY thing I that would be negative is we were sat next to the fan which is oddly loud so couldnt really hear much. But the food and staff made up for that :)
Love this vegan cafe in St Kilda. The big breakfast was delicious and filling, as were the blue pancakes i had last week. Friendly staff. Nice layout and ambiance. The long seats against the wall should be replaced/reupholstered though (found heaps of flakes on my jeans/hands!) and a divider /partition should cover the stock shelves area at the back, but whatever i'll definitely come back again for the vegan foods!
Seriously delicious vegan meals! There aren't a lot of places accessible to me that do really good cafe style vegan food. Love their eggs and ham, and their mac n cheese was delish! The staff are also super friendly.
The pancakes are my fave but would like to see them a little bigger!! Wait time on the coffee order took longer then the food to come out. Otherwise friendly staff great food. Overall great experience
Please maintain the place. It used to be such a gem in St Kilda for those trying plant based food. It was a bit disappointing to have flies inside. Please bring back the funk this place used to have!
Food & coffee is always delicious, and staff are always attentive & friendly. All vegan, st Kilda cafe brilliance. Love starting my day at this cafe!!
Service was great and food fresh. Delivered to the table with a smile. Throughly recommended. Parking was near by. Menu was exciting and everything that we had was fantastic.
Not very welcoming staff. We were sat for 20 minutes before anyone revisited our table for even a coffee order. Good meal size and presentation however lacking a bit of flavour.
Great service but mostly amazing food quality and creativity. Served in fun cups and dishes. Can’t believe they could make vegan eggs that really looked and tasted like eggs
Have been wanting to visit Match Mylkbar for a very long time now as I regularly drool over their Insta posts but the experience turned out to be one that I could only diplomatically describe as flat. First of all, we made a prior booking on The Fork for 6 people, turned up a little before our actual booking time, stepped in from the rain only to be told quite bluntly that they don't have our booking and that large empty table we were looking at was one that was reserved a table for another party of 7 coming in half an hour later. The Fork, if you have screwed up their bookings in whatever system it is that you use amongst yourselves, please fix this for them! Those who have been would know the venue isn't big - for 6 of us to be standing at the door in a fully-seated restaurant (bar that one large empty table), trying to avoid the rain outside - not the best of first impressions. After some discussions in the kitchen area, they were nice enough to seat us. Minor hiccup and I was still excited about the food...until we ordered and the food arrived. You know when you go to Maccas, order a burger and then whatever materializes looks nothing quite like the pictures shown. Perhaps my mistake was that I went with excited expectations, perhaps the front and rear camera on most people's phones take better photos than two side-by-side ones implanted in my head. At the very least, I was still hopeful about the taste - the Low FODMAP bowl wasn't too bad, but the matcha pancakes was wet and soggy, my husband politely claimed that he felt "confused" eating the big brekkie he ordered, my friends couldn't finish their acai bowls and the lattes felt powdery and grainy going down. And yes, I went fully aware that it is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant and brought in meatless brunch expectations. I'm actually sad that it was just another over-hyped, over-rated place. And please, turn down the music.
The food here is utterly incredible. We loved the versatility of the options, we shared everything that we ordered. The fried chicken tray is heavenly, and we enjoyed the mac & cheese waffles. The LOL bowl & gnocchi were also fantastic. I’m so glad we went with a group so we could try all the different drinks! Can’t wait to go back.
One of my favourite restaurants. I’m so thrilled they are now doing Friday night dinners.
Love everything about this place!
Awesome music playlist. Seriously good vibes.
