Food used to be good, it has deteriorated considerably. My wagyu rump cap was chewy and overcooked (not medium rare, closer to well done). The bread used to be like an artisan bread, it is now an ordinary breadstick. Very disappointed.

Food was excellent. The wine also. Service, friendly and attentive. The views really some of the best on the peninsula. Pricy though. Get what you pay for I guess.

Wonderful food, brilliant estate wines, impeccable service and fabulous views. What more could one desire?! Head chef leaving sadly, but a great successor already foreseen, so can't wait to try again soon!

About Max's at Red Hill Estate

Better Red and Fed It’s likely the captivating view from Max’s at Red Hill Estate will distract you from actually getting food into your mouth at first. But once you settle in, you’ll be delighted by the view and the cuisine alike. Gaze across vineyards that dapple the hillsides to Western Port and let your eyes wander over the stunning Mornington Peninsula coastline. From the panoramic dining room, you might even catch a glimpse of Philip Island. Once settled in, you’ll enjoy modern Australian food that takes advantage of the wealth of local ingredients, as well as dishes matched to the estate wines. Come for a romantic occasion. Come to celebrate with a big group. You could even host your corporate event or wedding here—the views, and the food, are that good. If you manage to save any room after the beef, duck, pork or one of the other modern main dishes, try the mousse for dessert. Then go back to scanning the picturesque landscape.
