It was in Norway at Michelin Star restaurant Terje Oro where Fabian Lehmann truly began to hone his technique and found the space to truly hero the ingredients. In Australia, Fabian worked at Qualia on Hamilton Island before joining Maxwell Restaurant to carve his best expression of McLaren Vale, the Fleurieu and South Australian ingredients.

Sharing the plates is great as you get to taste a wide variety of dishes. All dishes were inventive, presented superbly and left you wanting more.

A beautiful dining room with a contemporary yet, cosy feeling. The weather was absolutely horrendous but we felt so warm and protected inside. Beautiful wines and wonderful attentive service. We were treated to the feed me menu and it was very good, and just the right amount of food as well. The food is very inventive without being pretentious. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Beautiful views both inside and out. All staff smiling and friendly at all times. Food so beautiful, all tasted amazing and presentation just stunning. Would definitely recommend the feed me menu, worth every cent. Lovely wine list. All in all extremely satisfied 🥰 10/10

The food was some of the best we've ever had and the service was completely faultless, our waitress went above and beyond with the wine recommendations and little snippets of information as to where the food was from and how it was prepared. The venue itself is stunning and the view is to die for. Cannot recommend highly enough! Just a perfect experience.

Food was cooked on par especially the salmon and combinations of flavours of the dishes really impressed my foodie friends. Service was also really friendly and not pompous like other fine dining experiences.

At Maxwell Restaurant, chef Fabian Lehmann and his team prepare a range of menu experiences to suit your occasion. Naturally the best of the season is brought to the plate with each harvest from our estate gardens. A passion for sourcing locally, but with European flavour coursing through his veins, expect complexity, style and precision. Nestled among the vines, with views over the rolling hills of the McLaren Vale and into the belly of a working winery, lunch is all part of the experience.
