Wonderful little instituion that's thankfully open all day. We love coming here for late lunch or early dinner. Service standards are always kept high and the food quality is consistently good even if the recipes do vary depending on when you visit. Come back and try the different dishes this place has to offer - it's very difficult to order something that doesn't taste good.

Beautifully flavoured authentic Indian food. They are able to make dishes extra mild for children which worked out well. Lots of vegetarian options on the menu. Saag paneer was a real standout. Very friendly & efficient staff. Definitely worth a visit if you are wanting superb Indian food!

We had the banquet menu which was very tasty and great value for a large group. Everybody had lots of food. The staff were very accommodating for our large group and we would all recommend the restaurant.

Food was good (curries N bread). Didn’t find Biryani that good. Also the other guests were too loud. Being small place and more people, it was difficult for soft spoken people like me to converse with others.

Excellent and authentic Indian cooking with real taste difference between dishes. Beautifully crafted flavouring of herbs and spices . We tried Goan Fish Curry and Bhuna Chicken both of which were excellent. Naan were delicious (although the Peshwari was so sweet we were actually crunching through the sugar). Attentive service with staff who showed a desire to go the extra mile. We'll go again and recommend this Indian as worth a short journey to enjoy

Food was lovely, we were seated at the back, thinking it may be a bit more quiet however became quite noisy from about 6.30pm and was hard to hold a conversation.

About the restaurant

20 years of Indian deliciousness As one of the first Indian restaurants in Sydney, Maya da Dhaba knows a thing or two about good grub. She keeps ’em coming back because great value Indian that’s also packed with flavour is hard to come by. That and the fact that her Goan fish curry can’t be beat. Now, back to the fact that you can eat ‘til you’re full and still get change from a twenty. The BYO option makes it good for groups and dishes like chicken chettinad, nazuk kofta and dal makhani are easy to share. Expect tasty and authentic versions of Indian classics from all over the subcontinent, as well as a few creative concoctions. Step off bustling Cleveland Street into a dining room decked out with Indian wall murals, gold threaded cushions and fairy lights aplenty! Best dish: Daal Makhani
