We ordered kobe wagyu but it did not taste as such; there was hardly any marbling. The zucchini flower and squid starters were tasty. Service and atmosphere was excellent.

I've been here before so wanted to take friends who had not been for a relaxed gourmet experience. They all raved about the food! The staff were very accommodating and friendly - we had an awesome night and are planning to come back soon!

As a carnivore I think the steaks were overshadowed by the sides being the mac and cheese and the collared greens. Solid wine list though. If I'm being picky they need to have cheese platter as an alternative to desert and offer proper, barista coffee.

The 2-course lunch with a beverage for $30 is a good deal - the skirt steak was excellent!

I wasn’t impressed personally food was over priced for what you got, and the one thing on the menu I wanted to try wasn’t available which we didn’t find out until we got there, the dining setting is very lovely black and moody with candles, but I personally wouldn’t be paying that much money when you can get it better at other restaurants for the same price if not cheaper

About the restaurant

Please note: For all bookings of 6+ at lunch and dinner please email the venue at info@meatmaiden.com.au or call 9078 7747

Just like the giant sides of porterhouse hanging in their meat fridge, Meatmaiden keeps getting better with age. This stylish CBD basement restaurant and bar in Little Collins Street serves up a killer combination of dry-aged steaks, smoked meats, local craft beer and wine and quirky cocktails. They raise their meat game each week by sourcing rotating special cuts, such as a Robbins Island Wagyu 9+ Score T-bone or O’Connor’s Pasture-Fed Angus Rib Eye. Cult favourites aren’t forgotten - Meatmaiden classics like the 20-hour smoked Rangers Valley Black Market brisket, decadent lobster mac n cheese and saucy, crispy burnt ends still take pride of place and keep regulars coming back for more.

Our $30 Xpress Meat lunch takes a break from November 16, but we’ll still have a $25 steak lunch special for walk-ups and small bookings until the end of the year
