About Mecca Bah Gold Coast
Make the pilgrimage One of three Queensland venues for the chain, Mecca Bah Gold Coast is right on the buzzing Broadbeach strip, perfect for a night out watching the beautiful people go by. Featuring cuisine from Morocco and Turkey and the Middle East, it’s a great place to go with a group as you get to do as they recommend: share. That would mean you get to try the hummus with spiced lamb, pine nuts and herbs with za’atar bread, the Moroccan potato cakes filled with goats cheese, and the aked haloumi with pomegranate and mint salad. Then you move on to the lamb sfiha (open pastry with spiced lamb). You’ll also want to leave room for a traditional tagine – perhaps the seafood with barramundi, mussels and local prawns, or the beef with ras el hanout spices, sweet potatoes, carrot and preserved fig. You’ll also want to sample one of the Turkish, Moroccan or Lebanese beers on offer, unless of course one of the cocktails takes your fancy. Best dish: baharat spiced lamb shish for two
