Excellent service. Love the food . Surcharge on Sunday.
Great service and great food. Very romantic environment.
Our waitress was lovely. Great food. Servings a bit small. Nice vibe!
As usual, the food here at Mekong is still so delicious. Every dish was fresh and ever so tasty. The service was friendly and I can't wait to return.
Had a wonderful delicious meal at Mekong. Menu offered a range of SE Asians authentic flavours with a bit of style and elegance. Friendly and attentive service.
Once again amazing service and food at Mekong. I have been coming here for a few years and I am never disappointed. This time was the best experience at Mekong, as the service has improved to a next professional level and the food was served fresh and flavourful. I definitely will be back at Mekong and recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
Food was good, presentation was beautiful, service and flexibility was a little lackluster. They weren’t willing to substitute anything in the dishes for me which was a bit frustrating and weren’t able to make anything except the 4 signature cocktails. Might be a COVID thing?
Awesome food, exciting atmosphere!
Delicious food with a different variety of items on the menu. Great for sharing and good portions. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere to dine in.
Mekong is one of our favourite restaurants in Sydney and we go there often. In particular we enjoy the starters and this time around we had scallops, seafood pancake, catfish together with some crab fried rice. Delicious and would highly recommend!
Mekong share plate. grilled scallop using fresh coconut, bacon oil and yuzu chilli oil. Spiced chicken satay: using house made chilli with peanut sauce. Grilled tumeric catfish: well combine between betel leaf and onion, lime zest and roasted peanuts. Seafood crepes: mungbean, coconut and chilli anchovy sauce and well combine with miso sauce with chilli for dipping. Burmese King Prawns. Caremelized onion with tamarind, balsamic with watercress salad with crumbed prawns. Crab meat fried rice. crab meat with chilli, onion cute widely so texture is nice, mushroom and shreded eggs so well combined and taste has sweet and sour. chargrilled cambodian pork ribs. traditional strong slaw and the pork ribs meat inside is not well combined ingredient so it gets strong smell of pork meat.. the ribs is soft and is not enough grilled.
The mixed entree platter and the steamed whole barramundi were standouts! The panna cotta was a bit disappointing - the texture was too firm, should be softer and taste a bit bland, should be more creamy. Overall a good experience!
Lovely decor. Service was kept to a pleasant minimal. The food had really a lot of flavour, I remember being hit by it at the first bite of each dish!
Pork rib and duck curry are really tasty
amazing amazing great service plus food quality thanks chef
For entrees we had the crab meet and the crepes. Both were heavily fried and lacked flavor. Then we ordered the prawn main, the veggie curry, the sea food curry and the ribs. The veggie curry was excellent, prawn again heavily friend and sea food curry was ok. The biggest disappointment were the ribs: the meat was tough and dry and the flavors were not memorable. Overall the excellent service and the beautiful restaurant made the night worth it but would not recommend otherwise.
Since COVID-19 happened, we did not have any dining experience for long time, but I must say, that everything was perfect and we were looked after very well. The service was outstandingly flawless and the food had so much flavour. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves exprienceing an amazing dinner with excellent service.
Amazing curry n delicious dessert, great service.
We have been to Mekong on several occasions and it never fails to deliver. The food is amazing! I especially enjoy the mixed entree and we usually get an extra portion of scallops as they are to die for! Would highly recommend!

A journey down the Mekong.
Housed within the new ultra trendy Kensington St precinct in Chippendale, Mekong is paying homage to the flavours of south east Asia. Just imagine yourself embarking on a colourful journey down the Mekong river, sailing past gilded pagodas and rice paddies and through lush jungles. This restaurant is peaceful and refined, offering sophisticated Asian fare that is both beautiful and flavourful. Enjoy share plates and a number of beautiful desserts that are curious and complex.
Menu highlights include ‘Duck at Sunrise’: confit duck laid on red Thai curry with fresh tomato and pineapple and the ‘Spice of the omelette: crispy Lao omelette stuffed with sliced pork, morning glory and soy-chilli sauce.
The dessert menu is also delicious and the signature three-tiered dessert of rosewater lychee mousse, mango puree and meringue drops, flecked with elderflower, rose petal and raspberries is definitely worth saving room for.
Come and explore this venue and take a trip down the Mekong.
