Great food, service and ambience. First time and would come back as well as recommend other people. Cannot complain at all. Other than the service extra cost on the Sunday.

Went on a Fork promotion and had a great experience. The mixed entree platter is a must as is the amok curry. Each dish we had was an explosion of flavours - rich and exotice. Will definitely return Wine list is small but reasonably priced

Great food, but nothing too special. The pork hock with green apple slaw is probably the highlight. Very spicy salad but tasty

Mekong never fails to disappoint! Was a little disappointed that they removed the coconut crab taco! Eggplant tempura was good as I remember it to be! Service was excellent.

Dessert should be something more infused asian cuisine rather than brownie, but it was good??As a mid-scale restaurant, I recommend tgat tray should be used to carry drinks, looks better imo. But not a big deal to me, food is nice, and thanks you for your offer 50% dining. Service is good and friendly.

We were lucky to dine with Mekong recently and enjoyed our experience thoroughly. Great service, amazing food and plenty of valuable suggestions from our waiter. I would highly recommend trying Mekong.

We had the mixed platter for starter and it was excellent! Poached clam with beer and soft shell crab for main, delish!!! 10/10 as always

Good service but the food itself are not as great as some reviews. The reviews was great so I had high expectation but the taste was quite average. If not using the 50% offer, it is not really worth it.

Great flavour and presentation of food. Have been here a few times now and although I have enjoyed the experience each time, the taste/flavour in the dishes has not been consistent.

Food, service, ambience, location are all nice. The 50% . deal is a great way to encourage people to try this place. We are happy to come back and highly recommend!

Very nice food. We were late for lunch but staff still kept our reservations and gave us discount. We will definitely go back again

About the restaurant

A journey down the Mekong.

Housed within the new ultra trendy Kensington St precinct in Chippendale, Mekong is paying homage to the flavours of south east Asia. Just imagine yourself embarking on a colourful journey down the Mekong river, sailing past gilded pagodas and rice paddies and through lush jungles. This restaurant is peaceful and refined, offering sophisticated Asian fare that is both beautiful and flavourful. Enjoy share plates and a number of beautiful desserts that are curious and complex.

Menu highlights include ‘Duck at Sunrise’: confit duck laid on red Thai curry with fresh tomato and pineapple and the ‘Spice of the omelette: crispy Lao omelette stuffed with sliced pork, morning glory and soy-chilli sauce.

The dessert menu is also delicious and the signature three-tiered dessert of rosewater lychee mousse, mango puree and meringue drops, flecked with elderflower, rose petal and raspberries is definitely worth saving room for.

Come and explore this venue and take a trip down the Mekong.

Best dish: Full Moon (steamed coconut stuffed with tiger prawn, egg, basil & coconut milk)
