Sold out of rib eye steaks at 7pm, waiter took the order (in any other good restaurant the waiter would notify customers when items are not available BEFORE taking the order) then came back to say no. Cold over cooked chips and a soggy side salad. After dinner we asked to see dessert menu.. waiter replied .. sorry kitchen is closed.. WTF! let customers already in the restaurant know that the kitchen is closing.. would like to order dessert!!! After a brief discussion with the kitchen they offered two desserts.. we ordered two chocolate tarts only to be told thee is 1 left!! Absolutely the worst service in a restaurant of the caliber it try’s to be. And we had the booking for 4 people confirmed 3 weeks prior. Just terrible.
Great service, awesome waiters, feel good atmosphere
Friendly service and good food
4th visit in 9 weeks and not once have we been disappointed, whether we booked or walked in The service, food and atmosphere is just simply, friendly and cosy. We will see them again soon
The wood fires are a great feature
Shocking service, food was average, overcharged for one menu item. Will not return.
Great venue and fantastic service.
A great casual pub feel with unexpected better than expected pub meals...will definitely be a regular!
Uncomfortable bar stools and quite noisy. Food just average, but staff are fantastic. Should not be promoted as anything more than pub grub
Sunday roast was fantastic, rib eye bang on and fish and chips good but could have eased off on the batter... Wine list at bar for lunch a little on the high price side for a Sunday lunch let alone popping in for a drink. The current no longer used cab sav was $55 the new this week alternative (replacing old version) is $85, I’d say for a pub meal even if nice, $85 for a bottle of red is way over the top it’s a pub meal ??
This place has the potential of being much better. It has nice fireplaces and seating areas with sofas. Service is extremely friendly but fairly non-existent. I was expecting this place to be similar to O'Connells considering the similar prices but it's a far cry from it. Quarter full on a Sunday evening. I ordered the duck and though the cassoulet was okay-ish, the duck was a bit tough. My partner enjoyed his parma though. I understand it's a pub but the music is quite loud in the dining area and even louder in the pub section. All in all, I was disappointed and can't recommend this place. On their website, it looks like it's a posh pub but it's nowhere near that standard. The prices are high for what you're getting. I'm glad we had the Amex Spend $50, get $20 back offer. The function room looked nice though.
The hotel had absolutely no atmosphere and down market
A group of us had the Sunday roast for $25 - excellent value and beautiful beef.
Didn’t enjoy the dining experience at all.
Bring the fire back!
Great food and service Great cosy atmosphere Great for meals with friends or business Hidden gem
Excellent service, great food, will come again
Came here for Easter lunch. Had the slow cooked lamb rump and it was so tender and delicious! Great service too.
Went there to watch the footy on the mini screens they have at the booths but they were unable to get the game on any of the screens. Left to find another pub that did. Disappointed that couldn’t spend our time here and had to move. Time to get it fixed MPH

This is why Melbourne is so great
Capturing the essence of an exclusive gentleman’s club while paying homage to ‘true blue’ Southern Melbourne pub culture and the role of sporting clubs and bars within the Australian psyche, is the Middle Park Hotel. Melburnians just love it. Not only for the nine plasma screens, five private dining booths and the English Oak and Queensland panels that adorn the walls (originally from the MCC Long Room). But also for its welcoming surrounds and classic pub offerings such as steak, freshly baked pies, scotch eggs and offal. The joy of eating real food is rediscovered at the Middle Park Hotel. At the helm is chef Stephen Burke who focuses on bringing the best Victorian produce from ‘paddock to plate’. Expect robust and respectfully prepared food with a nod to the yester year. We love you Middle Park Hotel. We love you Melbourne.
