Found this by chance while driving through the Mornington Peninsula on a weekend road trip, booked through TheFork and when we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. Some of the most amazing views in the region, amazing, friendly and efficient staff and the food was beyond enjoyable. Will be back for sure!
Love It! Such beautiful location. Food is wonderful and wait staff were lively, there just weren’t enough of them to cope with the numbers adequately. (Be patient!)
A little bit of Tuscany on the Mornington Peninsula
We love this place. Great wines, great pizzas and polenta chips to die for. And don't forget the tiramisu!
Easy going atmosphere and lovely food accompanied by wine tasting
A great relaxed Sunday lunch with friendly service
Thoroughly enjoyed pre dinner wine tasting delightfully hosted and then great tasting plates in very pleasant surrounds and view.
Beautiful views of the wine estate. The pizza was incredible (wood fired). Overall, good food and great views.
Lovely family atmosphere - nice wines service and food
Would be great on a sunny sunday arvo on the outside tables
Service just a little slow at the start of our lunch. Then terrific! Lovely setting. Simple but great food - polenta chips .....??
Now been to Morning Sun on 3 recent occassions and thoroughly enjoyed the experience every time. Will be back again soon
We used to love this place and would recommend it to all our friends but the service has definitely deteriorated over the last year or so. If you are seated outside, beware of the bees swarming around. We thought the meatballs and quail could do with a bit more seasoning too.
Amazing experience, will definitely be back!
We had a beautiful light lunch over looking the vineyards. Great wine, great food and such friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Beautiful setting, lovely fresh food. Will definitely be back.
Very nice winery
Had a really enjoyable day
We love this winery and the friendly hosts. This would be our 6th visit in the last two years. Love the polenta chips, calamari and pizzas so fresh
Beautiful spot for a lazy afternoon!

Sunshine, restaurants and rainbow
This restaurant lives in a sunny estate on the hills of Mornington peninsula. And it’s called Morning sun for a reason. Every morning the beautiful dawn light cascades across the valley, bringing a stunning view to the entire vineyard. It all started when Mario Toniolo began wine making as a hobby at age 70. 20 years on, his wines have won several awards and attracted many fans to his estate. You’ve got to sit outside to enjoy this. On the deck and under some leafy vines, you’ve never had country al fresco this good. The menu is also rather spectacular, with modern Italian cuisine to tantalise your tastebuds and ensure you’re back for more. The traditional wood fired pizzas are minimal and tasty – just the way we like them. What’s this? Polenta chips with blue cheese dipping sauce, something a little different never goes astray. The estate’s wines match the menu perfectly. Check out what Mario’s latest wines taste like. We guarantee you’re in for a treat.
Best dish: Nonna Claudia’s polenta fries
