Chicken and mushroom wit h coconut milk, galangal, kaffir and coriander
Great food with a large variety to choose from, the staff was friendly and helpful, very reasonably priced, great location with parking right outside the restaurant.
Food was amazing and friendly staff
Prompt service. Vibe of restaraunts could be more spruced up. Overall a good place to eat!
Food was fabulous! really enjoyable meal and service was good too.
Food is generally great with some standouts. Service can be hit-and-miss. Gets busy in evenings, book ahead.
We got notified by the restaurant that it was shut at 5:15pm for a 7pm booking made through dimmi for 31/12 on the day itself. Poor service.
Always great service and food
Never disappoints! The food is amazing!! The only negative is that they didn't have the cab sav in stock, so I had to go with the shiraz ;)
Good Thai food
Beautiful food!!! Lovely experience...
Been here a few times - try to go mid week as it is a lot quieter and service is better
Relaxed Monday night dinner. The Peking duck noodles come recommended!
We were seven and we all enjoyed that. My recommendations are spicy prown soup and beef oyster souce.
Food was very tasty, customer service was swift. Only issue was that there was a lot of background noise so it was difficult to chat. I'll definitely be back.
We ordered ginger fish and tamarind chicken. Both were really good
Good food & good value
Food was good Staff ok, but not really good at making recommendations
The food was really nice, and the staff were friendly, but the service was almost too quick! We had a 2 course meal in 40mins. I don't want to be waiting ages for a meal, but a little pause between courses would have been fine. And the tables were too small to fit everything on.
Food was pretty poor & tasteless. Won't be going back in a hurry. Shame
Great food authentic Thai at a good price!
2 Darley Road, 2095, Manly, Australia
Take a break from the daily grind
Manly, Manly, Manly. Sun, surf and this gorgeous and intimate Thai restaurant right on Darley Road. Words cannot describe how lovely the décor is at this little jewel, with big wooden slats lining the walls, greenery throughout and low level mood lighting. Reminiscent of warm romantic evening meals in Koh Samui, dining at Mortar & Pestle will have you on WebJet the minute you get home to book your next trip back to Thailand!
Mortar & Pestle serve all of the traditional dishes you would be familiar with - Pad Thai Hor Kai and Lemongrass Chicken - but they also offer some different and exciting dishes like Roasted Duck Fried Rice, Sriracha Duck and Gang Ga Ree Garlic (a yellow curry) so there is something for everybody. Food is prepared fresh which really shows in the steamed vegetable and soup dishes.
As well as being very reasonably priced the staff are efficient and friendly. This cosy restaurant has quickly become popular with locals either to dine in or to order a take away. If you have picked up a little honey down on the beach that day be sure to bring her up to Mortar & Pestle, take up one of the seats in their alfresco area and impress her with an intimate night out for two. Without breaking the bank!
Best dish: Hangover Noodles - the perfect cure to what ails you with hot and spicy rice noodles, chilli, sweet basil, Chinese broccoli and shallots.
