On a Thursday evening in January we were the only customers so were given our choice of seats and a menu . As the restaurant was quiet we opted for bottled Cobra @ E6. Served in frosted glasses- a nice touch. We decided to share a mixed platter. The selection was nice & though meant for one person it suited us portion wise.We were surprised it came without dips. Next came the Chicken Xacutti -a good sized portion full of chicken with a nice level of heat and a sprinkle of coconut, Lamb Biryani which was on the small size & lacking in Lamb but flavoursome ,and a plain Nan The accompanying sauce for the Biryani was very mild and it was at that point we realised we hadn't been asked about the level of heat in out dish. We also received the dips which should have accompanied our starter. At the end l we were offered free shots to round off the meal but would have preferred complimentary poppadoms and dips at the beginning instead.,

The restaurant was very good and the food was excellent. The atmosphere was very welcoming and pleasant. We always look forward to visiting the restaurant.

Lovely selection on the menu and really enjoyed our choice : Veg samosa, onion bhaji followed by chicken patia and lamb korma, all delicious and great portion sizes. Will certainly be returning. Only small negative I found is that the lighting was a bit bright but not a deal-breaker.

The restaurant was a great find, hidden way off the main strip. But still in walking distance. Service was fantastic and food was even better. Highly recommend!

It was Our first time trying authentic Indian food and to Our surprise it was good. Portions and pricing was very fair. We choose Mother India because of the reviews. However, the reviews spoke about how good the service was and we didn’t feeling that when we were there. There were only 3 tables, but the two servers were real involved with a large table and they weren’t very attentive to us, even knowing it was Our first time there, much less Our first time eating Indian food. We even had to ask for Our check and the bill did not indicate Our 30% online booking discount. It didn’t appear we received it. I would definitely go back again because of the food was good and hope for better service. It could have just been an off night.

Gorgeous food and incredible value. We had 30% off and the entire meal with wine was just €46! We had lots of dishes too. The setting and decor is basic though so nothing flash or upmarket but if you just care about the food then pay a visit.

The food is excellent. My second visit to the Mother of India. On holiday with my wife to Albufeira for 10 days. I will definitely be back. The consistency and flavour of the food is the best I have had. I have travelled all over India and the service and courtesy shown has been greatly appreciated. As soon as we told the waiter we had booked through the fork, we felt he was doing us a favor and a certain arrogance. He even checked more than once if we had booked through the fork as if we were lying to him. While ordering, he literally said : ‘you can order more, anyways you have a discount’. The waiter kept the cutlery and crockery on the table all jumbled up and we had to set the table for ourselves. Tikka masala a bit too sweet, despite ordering medium spicy. Biryani was excellent.

The food was very nice anf the setting was nice. A word of advice make sure to come on time when u book because it isn't a big restaurant. Also, all the chicken dishes are the only things that are Halal.

The best Indian food in town, has always great service and amazing food!
