My mother told me if I had nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all, but in this case it can’t be helped. My lamb was cold chewy and fatty my wife’s chicken was okay, but very underwhelming. The $10 bowl of Choi sum was not pleasant.. and to top it off the white wine was warm. We were that disappointed we did not even want to try the deserts. the price was ridiculous and then They had the cheek to add on a surcharge. And it wasn’t even a public holiday or weekend. We certainly will never go there again, would not recommend.

The staff were excellent and all four of us enjoyed our meal. Thought the Tasmanian wine was priced at the top end per glass. Think we need to encourage people to enjoy our produce and wine without feeling the cost to be excessive.

The Mud Bar is a Launceston icon. It never disappoints! We had a fantastic range of different dishes to choose from & all were tasty & fresh. The parking was a little hectic though.

Food is good, service is good but I’m very disappointed with the business management has a 1.5% surcharge on all eftpos transaction. The venue charges a premium prize already and still pass on the cost to the consumer.

As always, the oysters were superb, and are the main reason I keep going back to Mudbar. My overseas visitors only had one night in Tasmania, and had eaten there before, and wanted to re-visit for the oysters too. The mains are also delicious, but for oyster lovers, a mixed dozen is the ultimate starter!

Excellent but expensive restaurant . Welcoming and informative staff. Pleasant Asian fusion food but not edgy . Scallops not enhanced by sauce but still a nice dish . Would return if in Launceston .
