Fabulous
The food was outstanding, and good portion sizes. However a dish was served that my pregnant wife was unable to eat due to cross contamination. We sent it back and their fix was to throw it in the fryer, with cross contamination still present. We had to ask a second time for the dish to be sent back and there was no recognition from the wait staff about the gravity of the situation. Very disappointed with this experience, we would definitely have been back had the issue been dealt with appropriately.
Staff were great and pretty friendly the main meal was just perfect we all had the porthouse and everyone was pretty happy about the meat quality!!!!
Food and service were excellent, and good selection of drinks especially the beers. Lacks a little in atmosphere and the wooden chairs were uncomfortable but overall we would return again.
Great atmosphere and service was attentive. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Dessert menu looked delicious too but we were all too full. 5 stars!
This restaurant had lovely food however there were a couple things we were a little disappointed with. I’m not fond of only receiving a drink menu once I sit down and no food menu. We felt as though we were forced to order a drink before we were allowed to order a meal. Another thing I had mentioned it was my partners birthday, was told happy to place a candle in the dessert if ordered. However my partner and I were so full we didn’t end up ordering one. We did not get a happy birthday or have a nice birthday nothing to acknowledge the fact. Whenever I have booked a restaurant to celebrate a birthday whether we order a dessert or not the acknowledgment is still given. I probably wouldn’t recommend to friends/family however would say the food was nice and let them decide whether they want to visit or not.
Very reliable. Food and service was very good. This is a nice restaurant that I am happy to recommend
Everyone had steaks, one had fish. Overall good flavours, overpriced for a suburban restaurant. Very slow service, we had to wait a long time between entree and mains
Food was amazing! We had the rib eye and brisket with some appetisers and sides to share. The wings and cauliflower salad is highly recommended for the middle. Was just perfect. The staff seem a little under trained but that’s a small issue. They were still delightful. The desserts were mouthwatering too, cinnamon doughnut was the best, tho the sugar crust on the creme brûlée was overly thick and chewy, the filling was still tasty.
We both thoroughly enjoyed the Pork Schnitzel and Coleslaw, the portion servings were large and extremely tasty. We felt very welcomed and received attentive service. Can thoroughly recommend this Neighbourhood Gem.
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive.
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. Very good ambiance.
The food was excellent and the staff were pleasant and helpful, I also liked the ambient atmosphere, a good experience all round.
Delicious food and great service. Nice drink selection. We ordered the fish special and really enjoyed it. We will definitely go again even though we’re from the other side of town.
The food is always well cooked and presented The service was excellent and even though the restaurant was heaving they accommodated our requests. I would say the tables are very close together by the kitchen which can be a bit annoying if they are busy. Overall we loved the food and service and beverage knowledge was outstanding I highly recommend this place
Manchego croquettes were the highlight after the company. Bartender was a bit serious but floor staff were fun. Great atmosphere and yummy food. We’ll be back ????
We came in with a party of six (we'd made a reservation, we're not savages) for my fortieth birthday dinner. Everything was fantastic; food, drinks, service; it was all great. I had the "bacon wrapped eye fillet" and it was absolutely perfect. It could have come with more sides/options though, it was a bit expensive for what it was. The only fillet they had left was 300 grams so it ended up being a $75 steak and it only came with the steak itself and a handful of beans (which were also delicious). Perhaps some roast chats or something on the side would be good, maybe some mash if it's on hand. Something to fill out the plate a bit and make it feel like a full meal in and of itself would be great. Everyone else around the table had similar love for their meals as well. For dessert I had the doughnuts, and oh man. if you go and get the Crême Brulée you will have a fantastic dessert but still dessert wrong. The doughnuts were fantastic. For drinks, I had their Old Fashioned, and their "British Invasion", both of which were very good. However, the Invasion was surprise stunner. It was like a slightly chocolatey, somehow citrusy, espresso martini; complex, and interesting yet well balanced. All up, I'll definitely be back again someday. Zero hesitations on a repeat visit.
Always a favourite
Always great food and drinks
Special of fish unfortunately not available and it was only 7pm ,why bother offering it ? Another item on the menu was again unavailable. Disappointing for the Birthday Boy. Probably won’t go back . Seems to have something since our last visit.
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Food was great. Will definitely be going back.

No bollocks dining
Looking to be well fed and watered in the north while feeling relaxed the whole time? Check out The Northern Git, named after chef and owner Michael Slade's nickname that was given to him by a close friend many moons ago. At this neighbourhood eatery you will feel right at home in the casual environment providing a no bollocks dining and drinking experience. Inside, there's a large dining room as well as a standing room and stools at the polished timber bar offering a place for those 'drink only' types to perch. This is a buzzing bar and restaurant with terrific fare to match. From house made pork crackling to grass fed aged beef, the menu has it all to make your mouth water. Check it out.
Best dish: pork schnitzel with house coleslaw, potato aioli
