Novaro's has always been a smart and refined restaurant in a professional area of town. The new decor is a credit to the new owners as is the imaginative food and drinks menu. The service remains efficient and friendly. Easy and safe parking.
It was our fault completely that there was a mess up with our booking and Novaro's staff handled it beautifully, can't wait to visit Launceston again and go here again.
I am so happy I chose novaro's for my partners birthday dinner, the service was excellent, meal playing was exquisite and the flavors were amazingly balanced. The chef was highly passionate and a treat to hear him discuss his process 10/10 will definitely be going back.
Beautiful peaceful setting good meal and wine selection and atmosphere very relaxing staff very pleasant would highly recommend and will definitely return
Magic at Novaros , Ease of entering with smiles all round .Classic service all night with just the right time between courses.Only disappointment was the changing of the menu from what was advertised . Sensational tho was their new menu.Purely a gem of a night and smooth as ..Will be back most definitely .Big kudos to our waitress.
The service and staff were excellent. We started our dining experience with a complimentary soup taster which was delicious. I ordered an eye fillet steak for my main. It was cooked to perfection but the steak itself was chewy and sinewy and not at all what I expect when eating eye fillet. It was a chore to chew my way through it. The desert options were disappointing. All cold, despite it being the middle of winter. Love the setting and the ambience. As stated the service was wonderful. We
We love this restaurant, the owner and staff make you feel like you’re long list friends! The food is without fault, the flavour is amazing!! Do yourself a HUGE favour and go go go!!!
Went to Novaro’s tonight with my partner. Great food, great service. They never disappoint! Love this restaurant
The flavour of the food was good, the entree pork was chewy and not hot enough, The main mushroom risotto was undercooked and too cold. The service was good and the overall feel was good.
We had the most wonderful evening at Navaro , the food, the service and the atmosphere were all exceptional. Pete and Victoria were excellent hosts and we shall certainly be back. Thank you
This is our most recent visit to Novaros, the first with the new owners. They are doing a brilliant job keeping up the Novaros' standard. Well done.
The Seafood pasta, Scallops and Pipis overcooked. Meal was floating in butter, would have preferred a sauce with flavour. The Mushroom Risotto was again floating on butter. Ordered coffee had to remind them and it was received without the offer of sugar. Dessert 2 scoops vanilla ice cream with salted Caramel sauce sprinkled with Hazelnuts $17.50 underrated was expecting something more by the description. Overall expensive won’t be back. We don’t mind paying top dollar for meals but they have to reflect the value
An absolutely amazing restaurant run by a welcoming and kind couple, we all were really impressed! Oh, and the food was perfect, I could not fault this excellent little Italian restaurant. Will be going back very soon.
When we arrived at the restaurant we were told that they had run out of oysters, bread, potatoes and beef carpaccio which was disappointing as we had booked 3 weeks in advance and was expecting a full selection. The entree of pork belly was yummy, but when we ordered the eye fillet for main we were advised that they had run out of asparagus and would we mind having broccoli instead. The food that we managed to have was delicious all be it rather expensive.
This restaurant provide s a really pleasant experience for diners. The setting, service and atmosphere are of high quality and the food and wine superb. A great example of Tasmanian quality.
We had read a number of great reviews and the restaurant completely lived up to them all. From the moment we walked through the door we were looked after wonderfully and the food was super. We wanted to try some of Tasmania’s famous seafood so had oysters, abalone and crayfish dishes, all of which were beautifully prepared. I can never go past a good risotto and the wild mushroom risotto was outstanding. Excellent restaurant - well worth a visit.
From the moment you walk in the service is second to none. Friendly host and staff add to the experience. Add in the food and you will find yourself thinking 'Why haven't I eaten here before?' I visited with a friend while on holiday and noticed a variety of diners including single travellers, couples and small groups. I'd say book early to avoid any disappointment.
We have been enjoying this restaurant for almost 20 years. Long time favourite. New owners Tyler and Kathleen had big shoes to fill and they're coming up trumps. Front of house service is great and food is wonderful! Four courses tonight. Each was great. Mushroom risotto was outstanding!!
Novaro's is an outstanding restaurant with quality food, wine and service of the highest order. We love going there on special occasions and we will be back!
Excellent Food and service. Very interesting combinations of local produce. Prices are probably on the higher end for Launceston but well worth the quality of food.

Take heart Novaro’s is a special-event kind of place, somewhere you would like to take that special someone to create a special memory. And that memory would definitely include the divine food that is prepared and served in this establishment. With lush surrounds in the renovated Edwardian homestead, you will be warmed right through when you come in from the brisk Tasmanian air in their cosy wood firelit dining room. The area is decorated in beautiful artwork supplied by renowned local artist Junko Go, in case you’re tempted to take a little bit of Tasmania home with you! Delightful local produce leaps off the pages of their menus including dishes such as creamy seafood soup (Crema frutti brodo) and Spaghettini al gamberoni (spaghetti with pan seared prawns.) Enjoy a glass or two of the local Tasmanian whites or select something from their wide list. Head Chef Nicholas Hooper takes you on a special journey with food that is best enjoyed slowly, and a lot of it. Best dish: Scaloppine alla Marsala
