I dined here on a Saturday night with my family. Upon arrival, I explained that I had a booking and the staff member seemed confused and went to check. A different person came over and asked us "how many people" and I explained that I already had a booking. We got a seated at a table that was already reserved so I assumed that they found my booking. For starters, we had the garlic and herb bread which was a generous serving and flavourful. The pieces were cut quite thick but a sharp knife was provided if you wanted to cut it smaller. For the main, I had the osso bucco ravioli which was handmade pasta in a creamy jus sauce. I found the pasta well cooked and with ample filling. The serving size was quite large with about five pieces of ravioli. We also had the zucchini flavours which were well received as well as the chicken milanese. I enjoyed the food here however the service was a bit off. We didn't receive any table water and it seemed that we had multiple staff looking after our table and that there was some miscommunications between the team members. This place is good for a pre show meal if you're looking for something cheap and cheerful.

Nice Italian restaurant, good location if going to a show at the Q theatre - just up the lane way. Good food, sometimes service is a bit hit and miss but they are friendly.

Quite disappointed in the end, particularly with the food. They didn’t have pizza, which we found strange for an Italian restaurant. Good service and great with accomodating the babies we had with us.

I booked it online without seeing the restaurant- I based it on cuisine type (my visitors wanted Italian) and was enticed by special 20% off my bill. However, upon arrival I was slightly disappointed and a little bit embarrassed to be taking my overseas visitors there as it wasn’t the most appealing of the restaurants along that promenade (if walking passed, I would not have chosen this) ... and food was nothing to shout about either unfortunately. Service was pleasant though.

About Olivo Restaurant

An Italian all-rounder. Boasting beautiful waterfront views and an international mix of tourists and local diners, Olivo Harbourside is a great Italian restaurant on the busy boardwalk. Hungry tourists stop to browse the menu, while in-the-know regulars stroll in to grab their favourite harbourside table. Chef Glynn Pedlar aims to please with his extensive menu; there are burgers, handmade pastas, salads, fresh seafood, steaks and even kangaroo (much to travellers’ delight!). The beverage list is even longer, with a huge range of Australian and imported wines, beers, spirits and sparkling, as well as a list of classic and original cocktails. Any night of the week, there are regular specials and deals, as well as a handy early morning breakfast menu. As expected, it’s busy on nights with the Darling Harbour crowd, but it’s a great place to people-watch. A must for any tourist in town. Best dish: Angus rump steak.
