Food was very average. Pasta not cooked and flavour was not consistant in each dish

Great location but dreadful service & uninspired, very generic food. We had a booking and were lead to our table then just left - no service, no menus, no offer of drinks & no lighting of the heater. After 15 minutes we flagged a staff member & asked for menus, they were grabbed from an empty table, dumped on ours while they walked past & then we were left again. We again asked a member of staff for assistance, ordered food & didn't see anyone again until some generic looking calamari was delivered as our entree. It tasted like store bought frozen calamari, as did the aioli. The mains were not great either, the short rib was incredibly oily & actually made me feel nauseous. I left most of it, but no one asked how the meals were or said anything at all to us when they collected the plates & ran off. They're busy & in a hot spot, so perhaps they don't need or care about repeat business, thus the non existent service & lack of interest. Overall a very average & disappointing experience. Would not return.

Gad a great Night before we saw Effie concert. Was seated outside which was ok as we had gas heaters. (Gas did run out about15 min before we finished and it got a little cool, so dress warmly just in case. Was very cost until then. Lovely food and great service from on our waiter

Service was fast and we were attended to quickly however they took away our plates before the other person was done. We thought that was considered rude. Also, the pasta was a little bit too oily however all in all, food was tasty :)

About Olivo Restaurant

An Italian all-rounder. Boasting beautiful waterfront views and an international mix of tourists and local diners, Olivo Harbourside is a great Italian restaurant on the busy boardwalk. Hungry tourists stop to browse the menu, while in-the-know regulars stroll in to grab their favourite harbourside table. Chef Glynn Pedlar aims to please with his extensive menu; there are burgers, handmade pastas, salads, fresh seafood, steaks and even kangaroo (much to travellers’ delight!). The beverage list is even longer, with a huge range of Australian and imported wines, beers, spirits and sparkling, as well as a list of classic and original cocktails. Any night of the week, there are regular specials and deals, as well as a handy early morning breakfast menu. As expected, it’s busy on nights with the Darling Harbour crowd, but it’s a great place to people-watch. A must for any tourist in town. Best dish: Angus rump steak.
