Good service, friendly staff,... did not appreciate one of the wait staff leaning on the back of my chair when attending to other customers, this may have been due to overcrowding of seating arrangements...

The staff were absolutely amazing and accommodated our request to swap out oysters for the black bean taco even within a set menu. They paid careful attention to every customer and I will 100% be returning to Pancho Villa based on this service plus the outstanding food

Pleasant atmosphere, great food, cheerful staff. The deliberately dark macabre setting is actually quite well done.

We shared an awesome large platter and shared some potatoes and corn. This was more than enough for the two of us. Beautiful food and a bottle of wine when using the entertainment card came to under $100. Great value.

We had big hopes after seeing all the positive reviews and amazing looking food in pictures. Unfortunately our experience was one of overall cold or lukewarm food. The corn was cold, the tortilla for the tacos was cold and the meat inside the tostados was cold our warmest and nicest dish was the pork belly quesadilla . We love Mexican are are always happy to buy lots of margaritas and support great restaurants and we left in 45 mins after only one drink. Panchos has potential however their chef let them down.

About Pancho Villa Restaurant and Bar

Hobart's holy grail Hobart’s dining scene is growing from strength to strength with top notch eateries found on every corner. One of our favourites is Pancho Villa, a cheeky Mexican retreat boasting a killer vibe, an excellent drinks list and some pumped up Mexican eats. During the summer months this place is packed with punters seeking booze and bar snacks. And in the winter the crypt like dining space and courtyard turn into a cosy sanctuary ideal for friendly get togethers or even a date. Menu highlights include the tacos which come stuffed with things like chilli pulled pork and salsa roja, ox tongue and soft shell crab. You can also grab larger mains from both ‘land’ and ‘sea’, plus some beautiful desserts… rich curro dulce de leche or refreshing tangy lime, avocado and green tea tart. Oh, and if you love tequila - this is THE place for you. With pages upon pages of different drops plus the option for a tequila ‘flight’ it really doesn’t get much better than this. Best dish: beef cheek with cerveza negra & chipotle braised, with avocado & lime puree & salsa cocida.
