Differences between a steak from another restaurant and Pastore are cut, taste, quality of meat, cooking skills etc - simply brilliant A great enjoyable meal.

We were greeted by the doorman who was very hospitable & suggested as we were early for our reservation we might like to have a drink in the Atlas Bar, which was a delight. Dinning in Pastore the food was exceptional & look forward to returning. If there was one thing that I could offer is that the staff were probably just a little to eager, walking in on conversations to ask questions, which I often find this with I’ll experience waiters.

Our experience was amazing. The ambiance was great. The staff were lovely and halved our kids drinks and meals without asking. We ordered the 3 course option and our kids shared the crab pasta. There was plenty of food and the beef was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. I’m not a particularly big eater so I wasn’t able to finish the tiramisu. Could have easily shared one with my husband. A great restaurant to try if you haven’t and a great one to return to!

Good food, great atmosphere. Just the staff needs to get more experience in the work flow. We ordered some drinks , could go with abit more colour/ detail in the drinks

We really enjoyed our meal at Pastore. The food was absolutely beautiful with only one fail out of ten dishes. Our entire party declared they would be regularly returning here. Well done Scott and co on another gem.

Went on opening night and it was obvious that the restaurant staff were not well prepared. We waited awhile before being seated, it wasn't fully booked. There were many staff who stood around not doing much whilst we waited for some water to be served to us. Wait staff appeared untrained and unsure of how to enter orders in their system. We ordered a steak but was not asked how we would like it cooked so took it upon ourselves to advise. Food wise, the king prawns entree and the broccoli side were very good. The eye fillet steak was tender but lacked seasoning and some char around the edges - I expect this to be better for the $40+ price tag. The crab pasta was bland with not much crab in it. The potato side was soft, need a bit more crunch. We may visit again down the track after they have settled.

About the restaurant

About Pastore

Incredible local produce takes the hand of Italian flavour and tradition.

Pastore, located at Chadstone – The Fashion Capital, is the newest venue for the celebrated Pickett and Co restaurant group. Pastore – the Italian word for ‘shepherd’ – honours the area’s heritage as a pasture and orchard.

From small plates to full tasting experiences, the menu by Scott Pickett and Pastore Head Chef Mirco Speri presents Italian cuisine with Australian references, with a focus on woodfire-fulled cooking and handmade pasta.

Complementing the menu is a wine list of predominantly Italian varietals from local producers. An extensive cocktail menu combines Italian spirits and Australian botanicals, as well as signature Italian concoctions made with Australian aperitivos.

The dining room and bar feature a warm palette of dusty pink, brass details, natural stone, reeded glass and timber, creating a luxuriant yet comforting space to linger and lounge.

Pastore warmly welcomes you for all occasions.
