Hands down my favourite restaurant in Sydney! Food is fantastic - simple but done exceptionally well with bold flavours that knock your socks off. So many standout dishes that it would be hard to name them all - I love the labne, eggplant, roasted pumpkin and the watermelon (which I tried tonight for the first time and found refreshing)! The tres leches cake caps off an amazing night. The service is always very warm and welcoming. I have been impressed each and every time. If I can offer anything by way of constructive feedback, I’d say I loved it when (on our last visit) the bread arrived warm to the table (felt as though it was fresh from the oven) - tonight it was served at room temperature and didn’t have quite the same impact. Also if there were cocktail jug options that would be amazing! Two small observations on what is an outstanding restaurant. Hope to see you continue setting the bar on the Sydney food scene for many years to come. Thank you Pazar!

Always order and eat way too much when I come here. It’s all so tasty. One of the few places I would happily go vego for dinner and not notice it. HINT! Book your table through the Pazar website. The google and other links to the Fork don’t work and make it look the restaurant is full when it is t.

I come to Pazar for the great quality, great tasting food. I'm an omnivore, but I recognise that most dishes are vegetarian - and it's so, so good. Would convert any meat-eater! The taste combinations are out of this world! The atmosphere is great, as there are always lots of people there and the tables are communal so there is a friendly feel. It is located on a busy road and you could walk right past it and not notice it. It is a local gem!

Great taste combinations, delicious food. We had meat and veg options, but could easily have just had vegetarian, it is so delicious!

I am a great fan of slow cooked meats and smoking. I watched a TV program covering this restaurant and was impressed and booked online immediately. I love their website and their direct instructions on how to behave! The smoked lamb was overcooked, dry and stringy (probably yesterdays). How anyone can ruin slow cooked lamb is beyond belief. The two salad type dishes were sour to the point of being inedible. I can only reason that we were unlucky and had the product of a relief cook as the cooking and smoking equipment were certainly impressive. It is a pity that such a great idea produced a very poor result.

I went to the restaurant after it was featured on the TV program "Cooking with Fire". The smaller dishes tasted very sour. The heavy use of lemon was very evident. I do not believe that I have had that distinct sour taste in Turkey. The lamb shoulder was smoked to the point of being dry and stringy. It is very hard to wreck a slow cooked lamb dish, however, if this is a result of smoking, it doesn't work. The tomato and onion on that dish were also overcooked and dry.

Being bound by a banquet was a downfall for all of diners on our table. Every diner should have choices whether they are under or over 7 people. Being bound and restricted to set menus left most of us unable to pick our choices and paying far more what we have paid when I visited before with other 3 of my friends before. I believe set menu restriction is not a fair choice and I don’t think I will revisit restaurant with bigger group. I was planning to revisit with other friends, I have to reconsider this time. Thank you.

One of Sydney’s best restaurants, hidden away in the most unassuming spot. Every dish on the menu is surprising and packed with vibrant flavour. Demanding diners return here again and again.

Overall experience, my friends and I were so appreciative of food and atmosphere. They all indicated they will definitely return to the Pazar with family and friends. One comment is if you upgrade reception upon arrival and removing empty plates off table. I will be back soon to dine in with other groups. ????

About the restaurant

Mexico meets the Middle East.

PAZAR Food Collective is so much more than just a restaurant. “If the food at Pazar has a connective thread, it is a dedication to brightness and balance, a penchant for ramping up flavours. It is kfusion, in every sense of the word, but it tastes big and bold and global and delicious” as described by The New York Times 2017, this hip Canterbury eatery has become the latest hotspot where all the city slickers go for a change of scenery. Previously home to the much-loved Mexican pop-up restaurant La Lupita, 325 Canterbury Road has been transformed into PAZAR, the latest venture by La Lupita’s Attila Yilmaz. As the owner and chef, Attila has a vision for his new restaurant, and plans on not only serving up cult food, but also launching special events, breakfasts, a hole-in-the-wall bar and a food store. For the moment however, it’s the food that’s drawing the crowds.

On the menu, you’ll find some of Attila’s old La Lupita Mexican specialties, this time alongside new Middle Eastern and Turkish offerings. All the dishes are designed for sharing, with the menu constantly evolving, depending on what products are in season. The vibe here is ultra-cool – you’ll find plenty of 20-somethings uploading pictures to Instagram (#nofilter), taking selfies with friends and checking in on Facebook. Not that you can blame them: PAZAR is one place you want to be seen at.

Best dish: Smoked lamb and churro ice cream sandwich.
