The sourdough bread was delicious as usual. A little annoyed that there was a glitch in the order getting to the kitchen. However, the tuna and avocado, the duck leg and the gnocchi were taste treats
Lovely strong coffee, beautiful views for brunch. Fried buttermilk chicken was over fried and dry- had higher expectations of the dish
I took friends from Melbourne for an Adelaide food and wine experience , and the Kitchen at Penfolds Magill Estate was the perfect venue, food portions perfectly sized to enjoy 3 courses and the service and ambiance added to a memorable day, the adjacent cellar door was an added attraction
I absolutely adored my time at Penfolds today! We took the heritage wine tour and tasting (which I recommend), and headed to the Magill Estate Kitchen for lunch. We ordered the set menu for the day with a complimentary wine pairing for the main course. There was a bit of a wait for our meals to begin reaching the table (which we barely noticed as we talked and took in the atmosphere) due to a large function happening on site, but the food was really incredible and well worth it. The wine they paired with the mains was perfect, the staff were friendly and accommodating, service was prompt, and all in all, it was a fantastic day! Looking forward to my next visit.
Very nicely presented and seasoned eggs on toast with several sides - mushrooms and avocado especially nice. Service very smiley and welcoming. Fifth star withheld only because (a) table not ready for a while on arrival (b) Asked twice to take our coffee order, and then brought the wrong coffees. But small things in circumstances- lovely setting, nice staff, tasty food and coffee. Thankyou.
Really nice day! Was my girlfriends birthday and we are absolutely happy with everything from start to finish. Wine tour was so informative and interesting, our guide was passionate about the wine making process as well as the history of Penfolds. Lunch afterwords had great service paired with excellent food and of course tasty wine. The kitchen is wonderful for a anytime more casual or for a more special occasion like ours.
Set menu read well so disappointed with dry pork for mains and 4 chips with steak (which was good - yes 4 chips only! Then offer of free glass of wine for dry pork (lovely barman and appreciated) ended up just being a top up of a half glass by arrogant staff member (desert server) who couldn't be bothered waiting for my mum to finished her glass or bring a fresh one! Then long awaited desert - manager plonks desert in front me without a word and it took a while to realise it wasn't my desert. Staff member is informed by someone else at the table that their desert doesn't look correct she arrogantly states that's what you ordered and marches away leaving it after actually arguing with my partner a little who then refused to eat it. I swapped though I didn't want it or like it. Her attitude and general slack service spoilt lunch. Manager knocked off 2 drinks off the bill. Highly unsatisfied. The young tall barman was the exceptional staff member out of the team - genuinely concerned. The manager was not obviously over his staff as we waited for table clearing and long time for desert on hard chairs with elderly family members and he generally didnt seem all that concerned over slack table service. Loud unsatisfactory lunch. Eat your bread if you order the trout! Will not be back in a hurry.
We were looking forward to this experience but felt let down. The view was naturally fantastic. The waitress was OK but not at all chatty or engaging. The food was quite heavy and salty with a strong carb load which didn't feel right for a Summer's Day. We were hoping for more lightness, freshness and creativity.
Food and wine were very good Our waitress was superb BUT Took 30 mins to get our wine Our choices on the menu were not all Available -we were Second sitting and certain dishes were all gone! Simply not good enough for a supposedly top class restaurant . Not sure we will return or recommend!
Excellent service, Amazing Food.
Me and the wife were here 2 weeks ago this time we brought the family and friends even in a larger group the food and service was still great
Great friendly staff and service
Great food and view!
Beautiful atmosphere and setting. Staff were friendly and warm. A bit of a hit and miss on the food. For the brunch menu, the steak dish and polenta was delicious. The fried chicken and hot cake was disappointing (hence point was deducted)
The choice of food was food and everyone was happy with their order. We had guests from Sydney and they were very pleased with their choice and most impressed by the complimentary wine tasting. Thank you.
We are regulars at Magill estate Kitchen. Great atmosphere and food. Perfect place to spend a Sunday morning. Staff are friendly professional.
Nice and relaxed
Thank you - lovely place to meet friends and eat well. Just rushed out but I understand in Covid times. Breakfast is really good value for cost and the chia granola dish is yummy
Absolutely enjoyed the great quality alfresco breakfast this morning. Beautiful view! Now i m waiting for a new brunch menu for a return visit.
For atmosphere, service and view this eating place is wonderful. We would like to see a more healthy menu and less deep fried food. Good value for money
