The food and atmosphere were amazing, but the best part of the night was the personable service we got from the manager David and our server Paul. They both went above and beyond to not only look after us, but be part of our experience! I haven’t had service this good since I lived in America! I hope this restaurant knows how lucky they are to have David and Paul as part of their team!

About Peng You China Kitchen Bar

Bring a Friend Offering the best of traditional and modern world, Peng You China Kitchen & Bar envelopes you in a warm, fun, social ambience - completely fitting for a restaurant with ’Friend’ in the name. Situated at the Gasworks Plaza in Newstead, past and present China is reflected in their décor and food. Red Chinese lanterns hang from the ceiling with a yellow grill artwork complementing the colourful modern furniture. Seating is provided at the bar as well as around tables inside or outside. As for the food, owners David Hung and Joyce Chiu are keen on providing a fresh modern approach whilst retaining traditional Chinese flavours. They have a range of unique dim sum like the steamed chicken feet with black bean or fried crab claws. For an individual portion size you could opt for sweet soy and chinese rice wine poached chicken with steamed rice or steamed fish with minced ginger and shallot sauce. Peng You has a selection of beers, wines and Asian inspired cocktails also served in jugs to share like Sichuan Mary - vodka, tomato juice, soy sauce, sriracha chilli, fresh chilli, lime juice, salt and pepper, or Ume Sour whisky, choya plum liquer, egg white, bitters and lime. The restaurant owners encourage bonding over food - preferably with good friends. Open 7 days a week until 11pm, Peng You assures you the best experience. Best dish: Dim sum
