Last time we ate at PKs we ad to leave our meal as the steak was too tough and tasteless. We thought that we would give the restaurant one more chance as we had eaten there a few times before and the meal was fine. Unfortunately we wo t be back ad the steak was very tough and not really enjoyable.

A pleasant find for dinner near Melbourne airport. Was looking for somewhere to eat with the family before heading on a flight. Was pleasant surprised by the quality of the food, good value bar and relaxed family atmosphere.
I think the main meals should either come with assorted green vegetables or should be able to add a 'side' of vegetables as extra. The current side of vegetables that are on offer are way too big and expensive for one person to add to their meal. Also they need to change the music from the radio to just continuous easy listening music. Despite these two things the food was delicious and the service was very friendly. I will go again.
Let's start with first impressions: You're eating in a motel breakfast room, and it feels like it. The food menu is reasonably sophisticated. The trio of dips starter featured some tasty homemade dips but blackened pita bread. Two people ordered the stuffed chicken breast - and we were told shortly thereafter that there was only one on offer. The mains came out after a lengthy wait (for an empty restaurant) and there was both good (the chicken breast and lamb shanks were very generous serves and reportedly tasted good) and very bad. The well-prepared steak was accompanied by vegetables that had been steamed for two to three times longer than they needed - we're talking fall apart when you try to pick them up with a fork. And my companion got a 25 mm machine bolt in her paella. The wait staff replaced the meal - but offered NOTHING to compensate for the disruption of the meal - they didn't comp the dish, offer dessert or otherwise try to make up for it. The paella minus the "iron supplement" was tasty and had a lot of seafood,but was suspiciously bright opaque yellow - did not look like genuine saffron. All and all the portion sizes were generous and the flavours were mostly good, but there were some serious lapses. The meal (meeting some visiting relatives on a brief stopover between flights)was a roller coaster deeply marred by bad handling by both the kitchen and staff. We had arranged the meal and were embarrassed.
Have been to this restaurant a few times now and in the past have been very satisfied. However last night we had a booking for four people for a birthday celebration and when we arrived the restuarant was closed. Apparently the air conditioning had broken down and while things like this happen l was left to wonder when we were going to be notified. The booking did include my phone number.
I have nothing to add. Also don't think this should be mandatory.

An unexpected gem
Attached to the Quality Hotel Melbourne in Tullamarine, only seven minutes from the airport, is PK’s a popular stop for travellers en route to and from Melbourne airport. Many a tired/'in the know' traveller will drop in for a meal at PK’s. The restaurant has lovely modern décor, and the food is very good. If you are sick of plane food, you’ll be happily surprised to know that PK’s has an extensive menu with a real international feel to it. Stuff yourselves with Kangaroo fillet on a bed of oyster shitake risotto, or venison sausages. Make sure you leave room for the beautiful brie cheese plate and a glass of delicious dessert wine. PK’s is truly a little gem, ready to serve.
Best dish: tender pork fillet medallions infused with fresh sage and laid on top of a potato.
