Pounders - retro movie over classic burgers. a good place for a casual night out with friends. The staff were attentive, welcoming and friendly.
The burgers are juicy and you can tell the patties were home made. Would come bakc for the food. What could improve: - music was a bit loud - waitress didn't seem too bothered about customers and I struggled to hear what she said over the loud music - front signage needs to be better. I drive past this street regularly and never knew this shop existed. In fact, I was trying to look for this shop today and still had trouble finding it. The black and white sign beside the dog grooming sign makes it hard to notice this shop. Doesn't help that they share the same entrance with the dog groomer and there is a tree in front of it.
The burgers were quite a generous portion and tasty. I wasn't a fan of the onion rings but that is just a personal taste. The service was good though you do have to go to the counter to order.
Quick easy food to eat. Like the environment so much. LIke the service , like the atmosphere. Relaxing, happy environment
The chips were nice but the burgers were average. A couple of people in our group had the Burger Off burger thinking it was a standard cheese burger but it had three different sauces- tomato sauce, mustard and mayonnaise!! Unfortunately a couple of people didn't eat the burger mainly because of the mayo. The menu should state what is in the burger especially with so many sauces in a basic cheese burger.
Burgers were good
Great burgers at great value the Yank Tank is amazing
Wholesome feel good American burgers
We ate here on a Thursday night and we had the philly cheesesteak, buffalo wings, onion rings and the yank tank. A stand out were the buffalo wings which were fried and sauced to perfection, and were probably the best I've had in Melbourne. My dining partners and I have mixed opinions however about the burgers. Whilst we all agreed the quality of beef used is very good, for my tastes the addition of whole egg mayo in the philly cheesesteak makes the sandwich far too heavy and it left me feeling kind of queasy afterwards. My friend had the yank tank which fell apart from being too wet, although he liked the flavours. The onion rings were fine. Outside of the food I feel like there hasn't been enough forethought in the restaurant functioning as a sit down restaurant. For example, to the best of my knowledge there are no restroom or handwashing facilities on premises (fine), but despite this no cutlery was available and I had to borrow a knife from the kitchen. You have to eat everything with your hands (saucy wings included), and this creates discomfort when you're trying to clean your hands afterwards with only dry serviettes available.
Great value great food and service
The Big Kahuna and Philly Cheese Steak burgers were both messy to eat with our hands as the ingredients did not hold together. It did not help that there were no cutlery available. The beer battered chips were a little too salty. The complimentary bottled water was appreciated though!
Fantastic burgers, convenient location which is just opposite Syndal Station, however service could be improved ( the cashier initially reluctant to give 30% but only agreed to do so after I show her email TWICE )
