All food we had was delicious but let down by poor service!
Good but not great value
All servers were well informed and polite. Offered a choice of tables and happy to answers all questions. Menu structure is too unfussy, could be laid out a little better despite it’s tapas origins. Indications for starters, small plates, mains would be useful as although explained by the waiting staff, it doesn’t always stay in your mind when you browse the options. Cocktails were excellently crafted and food was an imaginative combination of flavours and ingredients.
We chose the vegan dishes are were very pleasantly surprised. Very interesting, bold flavours. Good portions. Great service. Highly recommended.
Delicious food, beautiful presentation.....highly recommend the Sovereign lamb dish and the scallops. Love being able to take in our old wines on a Tuesday night with a fair corkage fee :)

It was a little bit busy due to State of Origin, the staff were excellent and the food was worth the wait!
Very disappointing service. Quite terse/abrupt server who wasn't welcoming nor helpful. Food good. KFD (Kentucky Fried Duck) way overpriced - $64 for 4 portions - love a duck!!! Despite dining at Public on a few occasions, I won't return again too soon.
All four courses we shared were excellent....the smoked duck probably the highlight!
Everything we ate was delicious. Good, friendly service. I was surprised that it was very quite for a Saturday evening though.

Public is a place of wonderful contradiction. There’s a quaint antique typewriter and collection of antique sewing machines mixed in with a sleek, contemporary interior of concrete floors and soaring glass walls. There’s KFD (Kentucky Fried Duck) as well as delicate dishes such as wagyu tataki that’s as pretty as it is complex. But these contradictions are part of Public’s charm. And lovers of this sexy, New York loft-style venue will know the drinking is just as good as the food. One thing’s for sure, Public’s dinner and drinks menu remains one of the most engaging in Brisbane. Check it out!
