I was expecting great food.. we started with oysters and octopus, the oyster were amazing the octopus was chewy and over cooked. For our mains we went the steak, we were advised by wait staff that it had plenty of marbling and suggested that we have it cook to medium.. it was a very dry and unflavoursim bit I meat which I did not enjoy..finally desert, I could not go past the brulle. It was absolutely amazing.. would I dine here again, probably not.

Great portion sizes for a fine dining restaurant, loved the Tasmanian focus. Great wine list. Will go back. Only issue was that it was very noisy at 8pm on a Thursday - sound level of a pub and not a fine restaurant.

Enjoyable lunch

We arrived to find ourselves stuck in the very back corner of the restaurant, as i had booked for the party of 8 I made my way to the seat sitting in almost darkness. we enjoyed a kitchen door and the glasses stack. Whilst our waitress was fabulous the service generally was far too slow. We were far from last to arrive but due to time waited for meals, were well and truly last to leave. Perhaps if we hadn't been at the table for so long we wouldn't have noticed how cold it was sitting right on the window and wouldn't have eaten with coats on??? My suggestion would be that you reconsider what you can cope with, if larger tables are too difficult, don't offer them. My husband and I have dined at Pure South quite a few times and would hope sometime soon you find some of the qualities of the 'old' Pure South.

A high quality meal spoilt by excessive patron-generated background noise. We had to shout at our table to conduct a conversation. Will be looking elsewhere in future despite unique menu. Peter.
