Unfortunately the restaurant is too noisy for our liking. All 4 of us thought that the noise pollution (due to insufficient insulation) was effecting our enjoyment.

We liked the space between tables, no crowding or cramping upstairs, which made up for the noise. A carpeted floor would completely change the vibe. The food and unobtrusive service was very good, the tartare the best I've ever had. We both know Tassie and had expectations, which were met. Some more variety in Tas wines beyond the usual would be good, but what we had was well chambred and your sommelier was very good. Good value quality dishes and great views, rare at Southbank. We've been to both parts, downstairs and upstairs, both excellent.

There wasca big break of one hour (too long) between courses 4 & 5, on the degustation menu. Also the size of the serves for the male should be slightly larger than for the females.

We dined upstairs with overseas friends wanting to enjoy some nice food and the South Bank views. One of our guests is vegan, but happy to eat vegetarian if required. We were extremely disappointed that in this day and age the upstairs menu did not contain one single vegetarian let alone vegan dish. The waiter informed us that one starter could be made vegetarian removing the pancetta and the down stairs menu fortunately had a vegetarian salad we could order. Our vegan guest was very disappointed with the lack of choice and food she had. The rest of us each enjoyed two starters which were very delicious and of nice quality. Our waiter was very friendly, but was let down by a very slow performing kitchen. It took at least 35 minutes from clearing dishes after our first course until the second course arrived. Our spending of $100,- per person was including beverages.

Very warm welcome at front foyer and upstairs dining area was well laid out with an superior open kitchen outlook. Staff were organised, service was impeccable and the food was something else. We will definitely be back

Tasmanian Farmers' Sunday Roast Lunch

Join us for a nostalgic 'Tasmanian' inspired Sunday roast lunch. The menu is designed weekly to feature a rotating roster of farmers & fishermen from Tasmania, King Island & Flinders Island; served in a warm room with the winter sunlight streaming in the windows with a view down on the river and across to the City. It is Sunday; and so priced for families & friends at $55 per guest for 3 courses.
