About Railway Hotel South Melbourne

An Absolute Classic This is a pub-goers pub. A classic. The Railway Hotel in South Melbourne sits proudly on the corner of Ferrars Street and echos the pubs of old. It’s a destination for locals who are looking for a cold beer and a good steak (especially on Wednesdays when $15 steak night is on). The art-deco décor hasn’t changed since the Railway was built in 1968, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.The seasonal menu is stacked with classics and topped up with some influence from America's deep south. The hot wings and brisket compliment the large smiling face of Elvis in the back bar. Wine barrels have been converted in to large tables, providing the prefect space to try the sharing platter and a few drinks whilst watching the footy on a Friday night. For after work drinks, dinner with friends or family or a lazy Sunday session, check out the Railway Hotel. Best dish: Porterhouse steak with sweet potato fries
