Great food and service the only issue was that the food was cold , all tasty but chips cold prawns cold , fish cold , overall was good but don’t think we would return
Best food, friendly relaxed service and great value. Only a short walk off the main road and away from all the busy traffic. Traditional Madeiran menu. Do try it !
Staff were very welcoming, attentive and genuine. We didn’t expect much from the food as the restaurant appears as more of a snack bar/quick stop. Don’t be fooled! The sit-down food was amazing, I had the traditional scabbard fish with banana - highly recommend. The desserts were also very tasty (apple pie and chocolate mousse). Prices are already decent so the final bill with discount was spectacular given our experience. We might come back later in our trip :)
Simples, limpo, comida boa e simpatia do dono.
The restaurant is very nice and tidy and the owner is very velcoming and friendly. The items on the meny are varied and attractively priced - good value fot money. I can really recommend Recanto Ideal for a quiet dinner.
This was our 4th visit to this resturant this holiday. Overall rating : great food, excellent service and superb value for money. A real gem !!
A lovely friendly welcome. The owner was polite and attentive. The food was home cooking taken to another level. The restaurant was spotlessly clean with a casual, laid back atmosphere. We are here again for the second night running!
Located in the middle of a residential area, it’s a small, simple cafe-style restaurant. The menu is traditional and the food is good quality and excellent value. It seems to be run by a husband and wife team who work hard to provide a good level of service. If you want an inexpensive, no-fuss lunch or dinner it’s a good choice.
The food was excellent, very well presented and superb value for money. House wine at 2 euros a glass was an added bonus and we were offered a complimentary Madeira at the end. What more could you ask for?
Excellent service though one service man (the owner) might be not enough to be fast as desired. The owner is a lovely, patient, polite person. This is not a michelin restaurant but it is small decent clean and tasty restaurant which gives full money return.
We had a very nice meal, which extremely good value for money. Food was tasty (for me, the fish) and came in good quantity. Roasted banana as a side was an original surprise. Waiter was very helpful and advised us about our choices. He didn't want us to spent money on liquors because he wanted to offer some at the end of the meal! All that for less than 30 euros for 2. Amazing
Very nice place with gently owner and service. Food very good and fresh in reasonable price. We ordered two kinds of fish and soup i have never eaten before, It means tomato soup with big portion of onion and boiled egg, interesting. Everything very tasty.
An excellent freshly cooked dinner, full of flavour, well presented and at a very competitive price. This hidden gem is certainly worth a visit not only is the food first class, the team are so pleased to have your custom. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure an first class dining experience is achieved. 5☆☆☆☆☆
Excellent freshly prepared food at a great price. A small restaurant off the tourist trail but certainly worth a visit. The staff are very welcoming and professional.
