The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasty. However, it’s the little things the Red Emperor does that makes it a restaurant I want to go back to. Today the maître d’ brought a fresh pot of tea with the bill and told us not to hurry.

It has been awhile since my last visit to the Ref Emperor but it is still one of my favourite restaurants. Exquisite food and service. Highly recommended and you won’t be disappointed.

The Red Emperor, has always been a favorite venue. The food was, as always excellent; while the menu is comprehensive without being overwhelming, includes vegetarian options . The service is professional and the atmosphere pleasant. We would always recommend this restaurant. It does not miss a beat.

First visit and will return - most enjoyable and well presented food - not the stock standard choices - options for all tastes.

We had Yum Cha, the dumplings were ok, small serves, (the Shanghai dumplings were dried) the waiting staff were a little pushy in selling us the deep fried stuff. Atmosphere was quiet (though we did go on a Thur lunch time), lacks the bustling of a yum cha atmosphere.

Very good yum cha, though could have been a little better (eg, broader selection, weren't given a menu of yum cha plates)

As first time diners at the Red Emperor, we were very impressed with everything from our welcome, the service and quality of the food and the range of the beverage list. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will visit again when visiting Melbourne.

Red Emperor is consistently a great place to go for good Cantonese fare. Have been to all the places such as Flower Drum but if you want high quality, real Chinese food with lots of variety and fantastic service, Red Emperor takes the cake. Simon has always served us impeccably and controls the floor well. We typically come here for Melbourne’s best yum Cha but dinner tonight was phenomenal - lobster fantastic (one of the best we’ve had). I look forward to coming back when my family visits me in Melbourne again.

For some odd reason my reservation through thefork didn't go through (I made it a few weeks in advance). Was a bit pushy with letting us in even though the restaurant was half empty (for the entire time we were there). With that said, after we got in, food and service was great! Would go again.
