It was an interesting menu. Loved the salmon entree and the barramundi was cooked to perfection. Wish they served their oysters freshly shucked, but upon asking, found out that they're 'frozen'! (gasp).
Food was good but the service disjointed and disappointing, they did realise that they had messed us around and gave us free starting drinks and a desert platter
The taste is ok. The ingredients are relatively fresh. The problem is that the service is too bad. Our reservation is at 8 o'clock in the evening, but at 8:10, the seat has not been made. The waiter's attitude is also relatively cold, feeling that the service and price are the same, they all hit a 30% discount.
The food was great however the service has definitely gone downhill since the owners changed. It feels as if the restaurant is aiming to have more than one sitting per evening, and consequently the service is too casual. Was served a glass with lipstick on it - not a great start! The ambiance is always lovely however would really love if the staff were more formal and knew the menu better.
Lovely evening and wonderful food. Will definitely return and recommend to others.
Very good service and food is superb in taste. I really appreciate that they were mindful and attentive because they gave me a dessert plate scribbled with Happy Birthday even though I didn’t mention that the dinner was for my birthday.
Always a pleasant dining experience every time I come here.
Fabulous place. Fabulous experience. A must go and try!
This was our third visit in recent months and keep going back because of the great food and location. The staff are a happy and helpful group of people and compensate with freebies if the need occurs. This time around, timing was the only issue. The restaurant was full and we had to wait a considerable time for our food.
Service was pleasant but very slow - had to ask to give order them follow up for meals - busy in kitchen was the answer - no restaurant should be as slow - was not at full capacity fro a Saturday night
It was a warm night and we were given the option to sit outside, so we did. Our waiter was excellent - personable and friendly. Our mains came out while we were still finishing our entrees and my partner did make a point of it to the wait staff. Food was OK but not worth the money.
Great venue, top service and food was delightful. Chef only too happy to deal with our special dietry needs.
Fantastic location and menu, friendly helpful staff. Food was really delicious.
A relaxing atmosphere, excellent good, a good night out
30% discount was offered but the portion was cut by at least 30%. We have had Feed Me Experience several times but it has never been this bad. Service can be improved. Service team is polite but not as attentive as it used to. The person, to whom we made payment, didn’t even bother to say a word apart from the total amount.
Always enjoy going to the Red Ochre - an Adelaide icon
Excellent night out.
Spectacular setting. Being a Saturday night it was very busy and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable however not as attentive as you would expect for a restaurant of this calibre (we ended up pouring our own water and wine throughout the meal). Food was delicious although the entrees were mohe enjoyable than the main courses. Would be a great place for a date due to the view, decor and ambience, very beautiful.
We went to Red Ochre for our wedding anniversary dinner and had a lovely meal and were even treated to a special anniversary treat by the restaurant. Really enjoyed our meal and were impressed with the wine list. We will be back again
Delicious food - enjoyed all entrees and mains. Would recommend.

In the Red
Red Ochre is a firm favourite amongst South Australian locals and visitors alike, after a successful move several years back to its current, permanent home on the banks of the River Torrens which accentuates the views of the beautiful Festival Centre, major hotels and Adelaide skyline. The cuisine at Red Ochre has always been top notch, and service is of the highest quality. The décor is light, airy and hushed, allowing that perfect first date or special occasion to flourish. Try the signature dishes such as the salt and pepper crocodile, or perhaps some miso and sesame-crusted yellow fin tuna. Just don't forget to save room for the Red Ochre liquid Toblerone - it's sensational - or if you’re trying to impress an overseas guest, suggest they try the wattleseed pavlova.
Best dish: North QLD Fortune Bay barramundi.
