Tomoyuki Usui

Born in Japan, Tomoyuki’s passion for cooking began when he was 8 through helping his mum. He trained in classic and modern French restaurants in Japan before moving to Sydney. He gained his experience working at some of Sydney’s well-known restaurants before moving to Paris to work in a 3 Michelin star restaurant. Returning home, Tomoyuki began refining his style and experience to his own venue Restaurant Plage, priding itself on being simple, using seasonal produce and a creative flair.

We had the degustation and it was very much enjoyed/would recommend/return. A great place to eat out with friends.

Guests enjoyed a complimentary chef tasting to start with followed by fish of the day (Spanish Mackerel) and Wagyu Beef perfectly prepared and cooked. Each dish impeccable explained. French inspired service, minus the attitude, just delightful. We will return as always!

Guests enjoyed a complimentary starter with Moet; Fish of the day; chicken and beef mains accompanied by a shiraz and pinot noir from private cellars, with cheese plate to finish. Restaurant Plage never disappoints. Great to see it well patronised mid week.

Do note they have cheaper options. The price is because we chose the degustation menu, which is very worth the $65 it costs. Everything was delicious, from start to finish. We are already making plans to return with a group of friends.

Japanese and French fusion! A simple yet inviting space welcomes all patrons to Plage, a restaurant that specialises in the key flavours of Japan and France. The dishes have been well thought out, where flavours have been put together to match perfectly and portions that have been considered to leave you appreciating all the dishes. The menu is modern and simple, but still radiates sophistication and elegance. The flavours are interesting and the dishes are visually beautiful. You will not be disappointed at Plage in Cremorne. Best dish: Wagyu beef carpaccio with dashi broth.
