Very good food & service. A little away from Surry Hills main food area - that could be considered a bonus. Delightful dining.

This is a gem of a restaurant. Very unpretentious. The sashimi platter was sublime and melt in your mouth delicious and we are seasoned sashimi platter eaters! The chef special ‘Cigar’ dishes are also a must try - quite different but delicious and are accompanied by a sake shot. Staff are delightful and the chef came and chatted to us and gave us several complimentary dishes - a lovely touch. The menu is not vast but what is there is super. Food bill was very reasonable about $50 per head WITHOUT drinks and we left with full bellies. We will be back and cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you for a great night.

Saw the Fork 50% promotion and proceeded to book for a Friday dinner but was told the discount only apply to lunch upon arrival, a big disappointment. Without the discount, the price is considered on the upside comparing the serving size. The sashimi served on an ice platter has the right temperature and fresh although the cut could be thicker. The tuna and salmon cigar is good but again is fairly expensive with only one cigar for each serving. Other dishes like the popcorn prwans, karrage chicken, nigiri and Hana are just average with the same seafood sauce used across those dishes rendering they all tasted the same. Service is prompt and polite and have also been treated with a complimentary desert. With a cost of over $140 for 3, we are still hungry when leaving the restaurant which is a setback.

Went on a Fork promotion as I live close by, love Japanese cuisine and was not aware of this restaurant. While the restaurant is quite small I was overwhelmed by the array of dishes on offer and the quality of both the presentation and the taste. Ordered more than I needed just to trial. Awesome. Stand out dishes for me were the kingfish carpaccio and a tuna dish, called Maguro Hana, 4 bite sized pieces of tuna shaped like a flower and served on a bed of crispy warm sushi rice and a spicy mayonaise - simply devine. For lovers of Japanese cuisine this is a must go!
