Only second time here, but have enjoyed the food immensely. So much that we took our leftovers home. Service was good and prompt. Would recommend.
Our lunch began well with a warm welcome and attentive service. A noise table nearby was a problem for us because my wife has hearing problems. However, we both enjoyed the food immensely and believe we would return there at some stage. We are glad we tried this restaurant again after many years.
Food and setting was first class but the best thing was the polite and attentive staff. Many Thanks. Drink prices were reasonable and we really enjoyed sitting out the front for a pre dinner drink.
The food was good and the service friendly and helpful. Lamb rump was tender and the garfish was fine. Interesting mix of vegetables with the lamb and good salad with the fish.
We eat here regularly and always enjoy our visit. The meals to date have been very good. This evening though I ordered the pasta with prawns and chorizo. I did not like the prawns having the tails left on them and found pieces of shell in my meal which I bit into. The pizzas where great. Will go back, but will choose the old favourites like the steak and schnitzel.
Lovely old hotel imeals were delicious my beef very tender the parmigiana tasty and efficient service. It was easy to get a park .... although it may have been as it was a Sunday
We both had the lamp rump which was very tasty. Very few GF options but we were accommodated once we asked. Music was a bit too loud for a Sunday evening?
Food was pretty good, quite a good place overall
Rob Roy is a popular local for us so we know it well but rarely frequent it on a Wednesday. At 42c though it was a great chance to cool off in nice, cool, convivial surroundings with a beer and a light meal. The service is friendly, accommodating and, based on past experience - highly proficient in their knowledge of South Australian wine. The food was fresh, well presented and reasonably priced (although the Herb bread at $7 was stretching the friendship a little). Like the picket fence concept outside although the bar area inside could be extended by a metre or two. Overall the Roy never disappoints.
The dining experience was absolutely fabulous. Everything about the Rob Roy is a class act. Perfect decor, perfect staff and service, perfect cuisine.
I originally wasn't going to bother leaving a review due to The Fork's new system where you don't get points for reviews anymore, but The Rob Roy is definitely a hidden gem of the CBD. Food is great and beyond the standard pub fare and the service is great.
A nice place with nice food. Just a good local
Scallopini funghi was quite disappointing, but deconstructed apple crumble was a bit better. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the newly renovated space gave off nice vibes.
The food is great but nothing really outstanding or special, but the quality of service and attention is extraordinary. Been here a few times, really like the ambient where I can talk with my guests. They have a reeeeeally good selection of whiskeys.
Fish starved with mashed potato didn’t go well...and not match with the roasted vegetables...lamb was dried on the top part ...
Initially worried about going to a pub for a large group celebratory dinner but was totally turned around by the helpful staff and quality of the food. Strong recommendation for a classy eatry with a lay back feel yet made to feel special by the service and delightful ambiance of the place.
friendly staff, good service, food are good.
Rob Roy hotel is a great place and has good atmosphere. Although the hotel is over 160 years old, but the interior has been renewed and have relaxing mood. They have good classic pub food with generous portion, including for kids. Thank you guys, I have happy experience with Rob Roy hotel!
Foods Yummy Friendly staffs I will back again
Although the staffing was probably short, the meals were adequate, the timing of courses was reasonable, but a little disappointing that they were served cold, and we did notice other patrons asking for their meal to be heated.

The new king of burgers is here!
This historic pub has stood tall for 160 years and it continues to pump out quality pub food and some epic live music. The pub boasts fantastic burger options such as Panko buttermilk fried chicken, wasabi Kewpie mayo and nori pate. If you’re coming for a meal at the rear you’ll find the Pot Still Restaurant which serves up classic pub food. Try the burger and chips plus a pint of Coopers Pale Ale option for a bang-for-your-buck lunch deal - you can’t go wrong. Wash your meal down with a good old glass of red from the main bar (they’ve got plenty to choose from).
Best Dish: Beef Burger with American cheese, pancetta, pickles, onions, tomato sauce & mustard.
