This is the second time I have booked through The Fork for the Rob Roy and they have not had my booking. The very young man serving is so polite and helpful. However the other server would not allow us to move tables when we explained that we were directly in front of the live musician and could not hear ourselves talk.

Food was lovely but staff are inexperienced. If pre booked but table wasn’t ready when we arrived, no-one welcomed us on arrival, no-one explained how the food service worked, e.g. a l a crate or pub classics. Didn’t explain drink service was at the bar only etc., they didn’t set expectations to the diner. However the food was great and once ordered came out quickly.

Beautiful outdoor setting. Halifax Street al fresco setting has lovely ambience with outdoor umbrellas & party lights. Fish of the day was delicious and filling. Scotch fillet also excellent. Cheerful, efficient service.

Food was served fairly quickly - the hamburger was very good and the chips were excellent - my partner had the meat balls which were also very good - service was good although one of the wines was not available. - with the choices of food it was disappointing that there was only a small number of patrons present - the hotel is well worth a visit

The al fresco dining area is always a lovely location to enjoy the delicious food and the calmer inner-city feel of Halifax Street. Bonus Karaoke to listen to tonight! The grilled garnish was superb and the scotch fillet beautifully cooked and presented. Rob Roy's is a favourite!

Lunch for 2 on Saturday (New Years Eve) was disappointing. We were the first ones there but they messed up the timing of orders. Burger and entree- size squid were supposed to come out together, not 20 minutes apart. Squid was nice. Burger was ok but chips far too salty. Maybe a staffing issue as I doubt Nu was there. I had been before and enjoyed. Sitting outside is nice except nearly every pot plant is dead or dying and looks dreadful.

When we arrived. We had to wait to for someone to attend to us and we just stood there for more than 5 minutes. They were obviously short of staff. Then when someone came out I told him that I had booked through The Fork but he checked his ipad and said it was not shown and he couldnt find my booking at all. He gave us a table anyw

A lovely small pub which was really welcoming - thanks Sunday arvo team. Fascinating history, great wine list and the food was really delicious. Relaxed vibe and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Will be back for sure.
