I have loved going to the Rose and Crown in Guildford WA. First visited in 1980 when on holiday from Canada. Once I came to live here I have booked several times for birthdays, Christmas, for both family and business, and always had a good meal and time. Love the history of the place and the decore inside is lovely. The gardens also great.
What a great night out tonight at The Rose and Crown, in Guildford, for New Year's Eve. The tables were set up beautiful in the garden, suitablebly spaced, nicely decorated to give a great ambience to this venue. The food was superb, the cocktails great, likewise the beer. Great service from very friendly staff, and every one enjoyed the occasion. Looking forward to visiting the Rose and Crown again.
the best Beef and Guinness pie I think I have ever had, the Pate was wonderful and the staff so friendly and helpful AAAAAAAAA+++++++++++++++++
Disappointing. We have been to Rose &Crown on many occasions but on this occasion we were disappointed. The atmosphere in the dining room is not as good as in the garden sat outside. The service was excellent but food was average for two of our party.Don’t think we’ll be back for a while. For the prices charged theres much better value elsewhere
Excellent food and wait staff but tables a bit too close together so it was quite noisy.
We had a lovely meal and relaxed drinks. Service was excellent and food delicious. The buzz and vibe in the beer garden and restaurant was chilled and friendly.
Lots of choices on the menu and the meals we selected were all really good. Excellent service and sitting in the garden on a lovely spring day was perfect.
Both meals that we ordered were good, but took 40 min for the food to arrive. Setting was very nice and shady. Finding a place to park was not very easy. . ,,
Have been going to rose and crown for many years. I am normally so impressed with this place not this time! The service was lacking sadly, usually it’s great. Sweet potato gnocchi was hard??
Great meal and service. Had a lovely evening.
Great food and bar service, checking in for table seating was a tad disorganised only because at the time patrons are waiting to be seated but pushing in front of those who were already waiting patiently but not a major issue that’s just other patrons not being more aware of others.
The sticky pork belly was amazing!
Once again amazing food and atmosphere. Been three times, three different dishes and can’t fault any of them. Great to sit in the garden and enjoy the nice weather.
What a lovely place for a lazy weekend lunch. Food was delicious and excellent value. Service was friendly and efficient. We loved it and will definitely be back
Great day catching up with friends, the service was great and food was terrific. No complaints it’s always good and we will definitely return again. Nothing to fault!
The restaurant was full, surprisingly not overwhelmingly noisy as could be expected with that amount of people, calm, lovely ambiance. Our service crew were efficient and knowledgeable about the wines. Food was good, certainly decent sized portions. Mid-week in the 'burbs, we were quite impressed!
Was a very welcoming and warm atmosphere. Service was fast and efficient and food was delicious. The tables were set a good distance apart so that COVID-19 rules were adhered to. Thankyou
Nice food and excellent service.
The food and service at the Rose and Crown was sensational. My husband and I had a lovely date night with excellent service from the friendly and attentive staff.. The food was delicious and well presented and the desserts were amazing. We had a lovely cosy table right by the fire which I had requested at the time of booking. Definitely will be going back to this local gem for a wonderful night out.
Never disappoints in any way. Service is always friendly, food is great and the atmosphere casual but no too casual. Dress up if you like, you wouldn't be over dressed.

Crowning glory This National Trust property was built in 1841 and has been a rest stop for travellers since the earliest days of the Swan River Colony. Located in Guildford, on the gateway to the Swan Valley wine region, the hotel is a magnet for tourists and locals alike. Wearing the appellation of oldest WA hotel with pride, the venue still manages to be up-to-date and offers three venues to appeal to people wanting casual, formal and intimate dining. Locals have dubbed it the best beer garden in WA. Others rave about the gorgeous old architecture, the lovely garden and the romantic setting for dinner for couples, or the cosy setting by the fireplace in winter. The Rose and Crown is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with speciality menus for the bars during the week and an extensive pizza menu on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If you are feeling hungry try the 300g King Henry port cutlet with prosciutto-wrapped asparagus and parmesan and rosemary gallette served with café de Paris butter. Best dish: house made Nero pasta with local fish, calamari, prawns, red chilli, extra virgin olive oil and white truffle oil with crispy basil
