Excellent
Love The RossTown. Great diverse menu, wonderful food and friendly service. So good! Caters for every age group so we love to take our parents and family. Everyone is happy.
The service throughout the restaurant was great and the food was quite flavourful though not as well flavoured as I would’ve liked.. Chips were fine though nothing mind blowing. The atmosphere was okay though. Overall good though not my favourite parma of the lot.
There were many, many empty seats, but we were placed next to 2 small children who were quite noisy.....The kids were OK but I just wished were seated somewhere else instead of 30 cm away from them. We just wanted a quiet meal.....
Food was lovely and fresh and hot. Quick service, pleasant atmosphere. Very enjoyable.
The bistro is clean and tidy, the service is always excellent and the food is always good and the plate are well stacked with food. Whether it is the normal menu or the seniors.
Pleasant and friendly staff who were attentive but not intrusive. Food was excellent. My steak was perfectly cooked and sides were delicious.
The Rosstown is a great pub for a meal. The quality of the food was excellent and the staff and service was fantastic. I would happily recommend this hotel.
service was really good they accommodated everyone's need food is excellent, we were 13 and nobody complained will definitely recommend and return
Worth the money. You will not be disappointed so I'd give them ago. Tasty meals. You won't go home hungry that's for sure Staff were helpful and friendly.
The food is always good at the Rosstown... However the 15% increase on everything since covid restrictions is disappointing and greedy... There is less staff and the place is empty for a reason... expensive and thoughtless for all the people still suffering the effects
We were seated near the kitchen and noted that the kitchen staff are professional and communicative, and produced good food. Dukkah salmon particularly recommended. Ordering was a harrowing experience. You stand in one line behind every other patron to order food, then are herded along the bar to order drinks separately. The bar is a free-for-all with no 'first come first served' system, and the drink prices are really steep for a suburban hotel (also soda water is on tap, but costs about as much as a pot of beer - interesting way to gouge your customers). The main problem is that patrons can't order food and drinks at the same time. No management, no oversight, no innovation. And in COVID-times, stacking all the patrons together like that seems dangerous and counter-intuitive. Summary of the positives: polite staff, good food, Summary overall: this is a very expensive bistro experience. You get decent food, but it's effectively a loud, stressful, dressed-up pokie venue, and the ordering experience was shocking. For the price you might as well go to a restaurant and save the stress.
The Seniors menu is brilliant. We loved the Seniors Fillet of steak with chips and salad, and the sausages, mash and gravy. The staff are lovely. Compliments to the chef!
I’ve been coming to eat here for almost 10 years and the Rosstown has really hit its stride. The meals are generously portioned for what you pay and are delicious. The staff are friendly and the food arrives reasonably quickly. It’s a constant destination for catching up with friends and having a meal out with the family, highly recommend.
Very good service and excellent food. Would be very happy to dine at the Rosstown Hotel again, although there were a few children running around and was a bit noisy.
Love my local! Always attentive, friendly staff and delicious meals ! The Duo Calamari dish is my fav! Been going here for years and will be :) thanks guys
Our meals were inedible. The soup had an odour and taste that was unpleasant. The pie (which I had previously) was a soggy, tasteless and the meat was only tepid, sitting on watery mash with vegetables that were oily and cool.
While there were many staff on duty, they were extremely unfriendly and distant, felt they were not interested in being there, very disappointed as we were hoping to have a good Christmas Eve dinner together with the family.
overall i did enjoy the rosstown the only thing i would say needs to be improved is your definition of dress code, i walked to the door and was told i might not get in as i was wearing afl richmond merchandise, the security said 'people who dress up spend more money i will have to ask the manager', I spent more money than ever cause it was good vibes, i would hope next year this does not happen as i will not spend any money if i cant get in.
The staff were wonderful as always, delicious food however it is a little bit overpriced for what you do get. Service is the selling point whenever we go.
Hadn't been to my local for a meal for years, food was very enjoyable, however in these COVID times I thought we may have been seated further away from the next table, we could have touched them on the shoulder we were so close ! A tad noisy, however it's Christmas and everyone was catching up with loved ones and friends. Will be back for another meal.
