The Royal India is a very nice restaurant. The food was very tasty, and the wine we chose was great value. Also, it wasn't noisy like many restaurants - they didn't play loud music- I could actually hear what my dining partners had to say, which makes for a change.

The Royal India is fabulous!

Tasteless food, over priced and the portions are a joke. You do not expect a kids size curry if you are paying $30 for it.

About Royal India Restaurant

Tandoori with some extra flare East meets west at this modern Indian restaurant which is located just 5 minutes from the CBD. This place has been open since the 80s, has won multiple awards and boats a mixed clientele of MPs, ex-patriot film stars, and loyal locals. The décor is modern and has a somewhat western vibe, with an inoffensive white and red theme throughout. However, don’t let this fool you about the authenticity of the food. The menu is a wonderful mix of traditional dishes from the Indian sub-continent with an emphasis on tandoori flavours. Try their tandoori marinated masala prawns, which have been marinated in herbs and yogurt and cooked to perfection. Or if you’re in the mood to clear your sinuses, try their chicken vindaloo, which (if you can handle the heat) is simply superb. Here you’ll find some old favourites as well as some exciting traditional gems which are definitely worth a try. Best Dish: goat curry, lightly spiced and served on the bone with fresh tomatoes and yoghurt.
