Meet the Chef

Born in Zambia, Owen emigrated to Australia in the early 70s. His mother a cookery teacher and father in the military saw Owen working in restaurants at 14 whilst at school, until beginning his apprenticeship and part of the team who opened New Parliament House in 1988. Cooking was second to his love of ice hockey, always saying he’ll cook until he works out what he wants to do. Rubicon has now been operating for 20 years, with Owen’s three kids now working alongside him in the restaurant.

    A warm ambience setting and the good is amazing. Came with gamy and we had the red snapper, Duvk confit, Wagyu beef and gnocchi . Each offer distinguish flavours.

Hidden within the leafy inner-city suburbs of Canberra is Rubicon Restaurant, a sophisticated, Modern Australian restaurant that is known for its incredible menu and relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. Owner and head chef Owen Kenyon has carefully crafted a menu that provides diners with a variety of rich and exciting flavours, drawing on some of Australia’s most beautiful and natural produce. The a la carte menu is diverse, with everything from gruyere and chestnut twice cooked souffle to Yellowtail kingfish sashimi… and if you’re feeling particularly fancy you can also opt for Rubicon’s spectacular degustation feast or banquet menu. This venue is a fantastic blend of sophistication and informality, and a meal here is bound to be an unforgettable experience.
