Owen Kenyon

Born in Zambia, Owen emigrated to Australia in the early 70s. His mother a cookery teacher and father in the military saw Owen working in restaurants at 14 whilst at school, until beginning his apprenticeship and part of the team who opened New Parliament House in 1988. Cooking was second to his love of ice hockey, always saying he’ll cook until he works out what he wants to do. Rubicon has now been operating for 20 years, with Owen’s three kids now working alongside him in the restaurant.

The only thing I may suggest is to serve soufflé in its ramekin as it keeps it warmer and the cheese stays softer while you eating it. That’s is not a complain though as the soufflé was amazing .

The personal service was excellent, the food was delicious and the paired wines were superb. I strongly recommend this restaurant. One of the best.

Great food and drink, excellent service and a really nice place. Will definitely return!! Only real criticism, which is not really a criticism at all, is the front door felt like I was entering through the back door. Just adding the logo and “slide” to the door would make this better.
