Picture of Owen Kenyon.

Owen Kenyon

Born in Zambia, Owen emigrated to Australia in the early 70s. His mother a cookery teacher and father in the military saw Owen working in restaurants at 14 whilst at school, until beginning his apprenticeship and part of the team who opened New Parliament House in 1988. Cooking was second to his love of ice hockey, always saying he’ll cook until he works out what he wants to do. Rubicon has now been operating for 20 years, with Owen’s three kids now working alongside him in the restaurant.

A long established restaurant serving well prepared and presented non tricked up dishes. Brilliant well priced wine list but the BYO option is useful should you want to bring exceptional bottles of your own. Easy convenient parking completes the picture. Highly recommended.

The only thing I may suggest is to serve soufflé in its ramekin as it keeps it warmer and the cheese stays softer while you eating it. That’s is not a complain though as the soufflé was amazing .

An excellent experience, a small menu but very interesting and good variety. Great variety on the wine list. Very good timely service. We will return.
