Great food and service
The restaurant never misses a beat. Highly recommend
Food was very tasty and the banquet options are a great way to test a bit of several differnt dishes.
Good restaurant, food not too avant garde. Prices reasonable.
Love this restuarant. One of my favourites.
We love Rubyos - their food options are always interesting and delicious! And their staff are always so lovely too.
Our "go to" restaurant in Newtown. Family friendly and BYO option (with a reasonable corkage charge), with reasonable parking options nearby. The Fathers Day set menu for lunch was fabulous.
The food was amazing, service was great and nice venue
Great food. Incredible menu with excellent Gluten free banquet.Polite staff.Just a little bit noisy with echo when full.I'll go back.
Lovely atmosphere and some great dishes. Wine list could be better but I think it’s also BYO.
Everyone really enjoyed the food and service. Having a preordered banquet option with accommodation for dietary restrictions made it very convenient and fuss-free. It was great to have the BYO option.
A firm favourite
Beautiful flavours, stylishly presented in an interesting menu. Wine list would grow with the addition of some alternative Shiraz or medium bodied reds not so full bodied as the sumptuous Torbreck we enjoyed. Much of the current menu more suits such wines. Very attentive service. Definitely worth a visit, or two!
Wonderful food and great atmosphere!
I went last night and loved it . One of my favorites. Great variety of sharing food, good vegetarian options, excellent friendly service, very reasonably priced and has BYO wine. Good for small groups of 6 or couples . Highly recommend Rubyos
This is the fourth or fifth time at Rubyos and it never fails to please. We went for the seasonal sampler followed by the dessert for two and it was great. Management and staff are really attentive so overall a great night.
Went with Hubby and 2 friends - one of whom is a coeliac so very strictly GF. Lots of GF options on the menu to give my friend a good choice. Hubby and I had the seafood sampler, my friends had 3 dishes to share between the 2 of them. It's tapas size meals so you will definitely need 1.5 to 2 dishes each. Also note it's served degustation style (one dish at a time, rather than tapas style where it all comes out at once, so if you have a deadline ( like we did), ensure you tell the wait staff so they can bring out 2 dishes at a time. Kudos to the staff who I informed at 6.45 ( seated at 6pm) and rushed the last few dishes out for us. This is a place best enjoyed when you are NOT in a hurry to get elsewhere but can savour the intense flavours and rich taste over a nice glass of wine. I would classify this restaurant as being between mid range and fine dining ( in terms of cost) - lovely atmosphere, very elegant, quiet.
Great food, especially their Seasonal Sampler.
Calm and romantic atmosphere, very nice service and elaborated an tasty plates.very recommended for the quality of food and the atmosphere.

What’s new, pussycat?
On a street in a suburb pretty well groaning with Thai, Indian, Lebanese specialists, Rubyos manages to stand out as a mod-Oz/Asian/Mediterranean fusion beacon for those looking for a break from pad thai and goat curry – or for those of us who simply can’t choose. We love the fact that they call their menu ‘Grazing’, which perfectly captures the vibe of this place and their emphasis on share plates.
Cue dinner with a few hand-picked friends.
Assuming you can come to a mutually agreeable decision, you might end up sharing a baked Atlantic salmon with black angus beef or the curried cauliflower arancini; perhaps you’ll plump for the charred eggplant involtini or the soft shell crab. See? Something for everyone. Whatever you go for, make sure you leave room for dessert, which could feature a passionfruit crème brulee with duet of macadamia ice cream and salted macadamia nut short bread, rose water scented panna cotta with mango coulis, coconut semifreddo sandwich or bittersweet chocolate baklava with grand marnier truffle ice cream. Come to think of it, you might need to ask for a few extra spoons.
