Beautiful authentic Indian flavours, faultless service, all in a very comfortable setting. We’ve had many Indian meals around the globe, and Saffron is right up there with the best of them. We’ll be returning, with friends, very soon!

Sauces were divine but lack of meat/chicken.

The food was of very good quality. The servings were large and for a change, they did not use the miniscule copper pots that all other Indian restaurants now use. Only issue is that charging $4 per glass of lemonade out of a bottle is a bit much. Aside from that, great.

About Saffron Indian Restaurant

Hot, Sweet and Indian Sharing its moniker with the most precious and exotic of spices, Saffron lives up to its name. In a little shop a bit like the Tardis (it’s magically bigger on the inside) you’ll find Saffron down at the Inglewood end of Beaufort Street, which is an area that is getting quite a buzz about it. You’ll find the staff charming, helpful, discreet and knowledgeable. The decor is effortlessly sophisticated and the atmosphere is soothing and conducive to a fine dining experience. The menu offers traditional regional Indian food, expertly prepared and presented. If you can handle it, try the seriously hot Chicken Vindaloo – the Goan vindaloo sauce is one of the chef’s specialities. For a milder, but no less flavoursome taste experience, the Chicken Marsala combines succulent boneless chicken pieces with an onion Marsala sauce and fresh cream. They have a busy takeaway trade as well, so if you’d rather eat in front of the telly… Best dish: Prawn Jhal Frezi
